Pet F2 Skill Perma Chilled?
I’ve noticed a weird thing with my pets activated skills (F2 skills) on occasion.
They will have a longer cooldown, with the displayed number having the blue hue that normally occurs when they’re chilled. However, they aren’t currently suffering from chill, and the cooldown never becomes “unchilled”, it always stays on the longer timer.
I’m not sure what causes this, but I’ve noticed it in PvP and I believe also in WvW. It was ever present while I was just sitting in HotM. Did they set the default pet skill cooldowns to be longer? I couldn’t find any reference to such a thing being done.
Unfortunately, I don’t know how this happened, but I didn’t seem to be able to get rid of it in any manner. I just noticed it when I was testing out some new pets and playing in PvP hotjoin matches.
Has anyone else run into this, or know what causes it and how to fix it? If I find someway to reproduce this, I’ll come back here and let you know. I was testing some things in WvW today but couldn’t get it to happen (i.e. letting the pet get chilled).
Yup, Yamsandjams, I’ve run into it and so have other rangers. (I’ve seen a few posts in here about it in the last few months.) It’s a BUG!
I’d say it first happened to me around 4 to 5 months ago, give or take. And it happened again yesterday as a matter of fact. NOTE: I’ve only had it happen to me in WvW. And it seems to happen more when I’m fooling around with some enemy Ele… dang them and their chill voodoo!
From the best that I can tell, once one of your pets gets chilled (and maybe he has to be chilled when you hit F2?), he’ll get what I call “Chilled-itus” (perma-F2 chill), AND… from that point ALL of your pets will have the disease!. The only cure that I “think” works is that one of the following happens:
1) You leave the map
2) “YOU” die (and I’m not sure this 100% cures it)
3) You re-log
Pet death, swapping pets, stow/unstow, and switching them out totally from your “zoo” doesn’t seem to have any affect.
The next time it happens, I’m going to report it in-game. I suggest all rangers do the same.
Thanks!
