Guild Wars 2

I was traveling far south following the quest marker as to where to go if I were walking. It was the personal story quest of “Fixing the Blame” which works wonderfully. Except the suggest path to walk took me to trinity fort, telling me to go into the portal. However, the portal was off limits because I was not high enough rank in the story to use the portals. (quest step talk to barkeep gallowknot). I found I had just not zoomed out enough on the map because I was so far south. :/

Can anything be done so that I do not get quest map markers that send me to places I cannot get to?

i actually had the same issue, but what you should do is zoom all the way out of your map and look for the green Star, not the Green swirl. The star is your final location, the swirl tells you the closest way to walk there without using a waypoint
