Guild Wars 2

Ever since today’s patch, whenever I try to open the game client, I get an error report pop-up that informs me that a serious error has stopped the client from running. The message pops up a few seconds after the client launcher/updater opens. However, the error message seems to pop up in vain.

After moving the window off screen and out of the way, I can still log in and play. No other problems appear to be occurring. I played for half an hour and no problems arose. But the pop-up continues to appear every time the client opens.

Odd. I keep getting the ‘Do you want to repair the client’ message. Whether I do, or do not, seems to make no difference. Game runs fine, either way.

Rolin, it is probably a corrupted file somewhere in the installation.
I recon A-net will have to patch it to make it work again but in the meantime here’s what you can try:
1) Completely de-install GW2 from your computer, personal maps included (you can copy them to an external disk if theres files in em that you don’t wanna lose)
2) when you are sure all traces of GW2 have been removed simply reinstall the game client from scratch.

It seems simple but many errors can often be solved by a reinstall

I get this message all the time… only happen when I’m done playing during a session. It goes away though once the launcher comes back up.
