I have noticed shadows flickering ever since i upgraded to GTX1070. Especially in caves and other inside areas. And some areas are not affected at all. I first noticed it while playing the Ascalonian Catacombs. The shadows flicker quite severely. And I have heard from many others that they have the same issue since upgrading to a GTX10-series card.

I have tried:
- Repair the game
- Change to different shadow settings
- Turn vsync off.
- Checked for new drivers

And nothing have really worked. Hopefully it is something that you are able to fix.

I have this as well, it tends to get especially bad when you go into caves and other darker areas. Only way to “fix” it is to turn off shadows completely. Maybe there is something like sweet fx to re-enable shadows?

Started showing when i upgraded to a GTX1080.

I can confirm this bug on my system:

2x SLI GTX 1080
i7 6850K
Windows 10 x64

Tried rolling back drivers from 375.95 to 373.06, problem persists.

gtx 1070 and same problem.

Already post many time 2 months aggo but no fix.

GTX 1060 and same problem.

As for shodows, they look bad worldwide in any game imo. Don’t know when it ever will be fixed/redone/whatever. Try set shadows on low and it might work. Atleast then u dont have the rough uggly edgey look and the problem you mention maybe disapear.

I’m having this issue as well. I recorded a minute long video of how it acts. I don’t think a picture does this issue justice.

Strange… according to the article, the Samsung chips shouldn’t cause it issue. Maybe there’s more to the fix than just regarding Micron chips.

Yes, that surprised me as well, thus the feedback here.

For my 1070 MSI provide bios update only for micron chips. Some time agoe i have posted on Nvidia forum but no replies.

I can tell from the screenshot that you’re in Priori hall, the shadows there have always flickered. They flickered when I had a 660ti, they flickered on my friends AMD, and they flicker on my new 1060

I can assure you, it’s the shadows specifically in the Priori hall, nowhere else do shadows flicker

With GTX10xxx series it’s not only in Priori:

I have this problem too with my GTX 1060. I dont know if a driver or Anet will fix this, but is really annoying sometimes.

I have a 1060, and I have yet to experience flickering outside the Priori. And the priori’s shadows flicker for everyone, or randomly for people

Happens to me on 3 different gtx 1070’s.

What brand of the card do you use? Where did you get bios update for version with samsung memory?

I have a MSI Armor GTX 1070 (samsung memory) and there is a bios update available on MSI site, but the update is not for my version of the card (different serial number), so I guess it’s only for Micron memory version.

GTX 1080 here and same issue, bios update dont help too. Here 4 month topic with this issue and still no luck:
