-Fixed an issue that caused NPCs to become stuck while reviving allies in the Straits of Devastation event “Escort the northern invasion Pact squad to the Pact rally point at Triumph Plaza.”
-Fixed an issue that could prevent the Straits of Devastation event “Help the Pact reach the Altar of Betrayal before their morale is depleted” from starting.
Obviously these fixes hasn’t worked…not to say im surprised -.-
Edit: Looks like i am going to have to do MY OWN alternatives for my gear that i need from balthazar karma merchant…….so annoyed by this, should have been fixed weeks if not months ago….and still bugged

Cant bring myself to enjoy the Lost Shores festivities with all the mats but Obsidian Shards for my Sunrise sitting in my bank… >:(
Broken on Jade Quarry too.
Yupp bugged on Far Shiverpeaks too. Only need the obsidian shards to get The Juggernaut but this bug i preventing me to get them.
Update
After the finale yesterday. A guild tried to pull the giant who spawns nearby so he can kill the npcs. I joined and we didn´t succeed even after an hour after 1am.
The morning after when there was a quick maintenance and the server reset I log in to check the event. The event got reset of course but the npc group got bugged again at the water where a wave of mobs spawned. This time me and random people could pull the giant to them so the event would reset. Though the npc bugged at the same spot again so we did the same event reset.
Anyway, in total during this morning we tried to do the event 3 times as it would just get bugged at the water where a new wave spawns.
The event seem to bug out at the spots where the event mobs spawn(so far as I know they spawn at the dead tree and by the water).
I only need these last obsidian shards to get The Juggernaut, and this event is preventing me and all us other players who has farmed alot for the lengedaries to get them.
Also want to add that this is a ridiculous way to obtain the Obsidian Shards. Considering it is in Traits of Devastation! It could have been in The Cursed Shore instead or another zone where there are alot of players. There are very few people playing inTraits of Devastation!

Would be great if a higher up could respond to this! Would be ridiculous if we had to wait 1 month for this bug to get fixed as I know other bugs have had that wait time to get fixed.
I FOUND AT LEAST A TEMPORARY SOLUTION! If one of the invasions stops moving, drag mobs, champions and anything you can to get them killed. If you kill the first invasion it resets to the start. If you kill the second invasion it will move forward to the assault on the Temple of Orr! I did this yesterday after the last event and got my sunrise! hope this helps!
First invasion? Sorry but I don´t understand Deicide.
The first invasion to rach the rally point is usually the Northern invasion. If the Southern bugs out you can escort the northern then get the southern to wipe by pulling mobs to it and the event will move FORWARD to the pact moving forward to assault the Balthazar Temple. From there its just keep them up and kill the priest and you win! hope this helps!
Okey just figured out(and also read on forum there after to confirm) that the escort quest gets bugged when an npc dies. Period!
Anyway, we had a really big group of people last night trying to do it(around 30-40 people). We started the first escort quest at south. Everything went well all the way to Lone Post. With this group we should have no problem at all preventing the npc´s from dying. Only thing is, the last Southern Invasion escort event never started. The defend quest at Lone post and Escort the Pact squad to the conservatory event started to loop over and over. Even after we completed the whole Northern invasion part, the southern invasion was still stuck in its loop.
Also did this escort quest now after the reset and we were only 3 people this morning so we failed just before the dead tree when an npc died(Order of Whisper Agent).
Has there been any threads about this with an actual Anet person addressing this issue? Would get my hopes up at least a little if they could just make a quicky reply saying they are aware of this issue and are looking into it.
Also want to add that I`m now pretty sure I`m speaking in behalf of at least 30-40 GW2 players.
so, right now, we can’t get the Exotic armor of Balthazar because of this bug?
yupp that too, it´s really problematic for those who needs the gear from that karma vendor

I posted info on how to get the event to continue even if the southern invasion bugs.
Pullng mobs into the group is not such an easy task and does not always work. This is an issue that honestly should have been fixed weeks ago.
I’m assuming the issues I’m having are related to the event bugs reported:
I’m slowly making my way through all the zones, going for 100% map completion, and am in Straits of Devastation at the moment.
There is a skill point at the temple, which I am finding impossible to complete. There are so many risen, (including veterans), that by the time I have cleared a certain amount, respawns are popping.
If I die, the 5 nearest waypoints are ALL contested, all day every day.
Advice for managing this skill point includes “pull mobs to the friendly npcs near the way point”. There are no friendly npcs to help.
Finally, this would of course be easier with a group – but this zone seems completely devoid of other players – whether because of the bugs, or better rewards elsewhere, I don’t know. But surely the events/mobs/spawn times should scale down for when zones are almost empty of players?
- Southern invasion reinforcements reportedly to stop pathing forward once one of the reinforcement members dies. I’ve seen this behavior myself, where after the death of an NPC the patrol stops moving forward by itself (it can be pulled forward with aggro, but I believe that only useful for killing the NPCs).
- Confirmed myself – I’ve seen reinforcement members die and the invasion continue forward (conflicting info – argh) however, the NPC was down for at most 3 seconds before being ressed by the player zerg.
- Speculation: NPC group members follow the NPC group leader. The NPC group leader follows his path, blocking on aggro. The NPC leader discontinues following the path once something happens that causes him to path to a dead NPC to res it – thus if the downed NPC is ressurrected promptly, the reinforcements continue.

Advice:
1) Eles should favor water magic and simple raw nuking for the southern reinforcements event.
2) Other professions favor AoE condition removal and healing where they can (Rangers Healing Spring is near-perfect, as is using arcane blast in any water field)
– The mobs here generate healthy amounts of condition based AoE degen, so clearing the conditions and healing lost health are both important steps toward keeping things alive.
3) Have members who don’t have PBAoE heals equipped work to maintain a perimeter (eg: Have these peeps pull the enemy AoE damage to points other than on top of the NPCs you need alive).
4) Promptly res any dead NPCs.
5) Cross your fingers.
6) Remember, when the NPCs are aggroed, they may be pulled forward. Before they resume their path forward, they WILL trek backwards to the point where they first received the aggro – Do not dispair that all is lost when they trek backwards, they will do this. (Moving Patrol De-Aggro process step 4 applies here. Wrong game version, but still helpful: http://www.guildwiki.org/Guide_to_Aggro#Long_Distance_Pull ) Despair only once the NPCs stand stationary, entirely out of aggro, have fully healed, and do not resume moving forward.

Observed 3x now:
If an NPC dies and is ressed, the warmaster will:
1) Finish current action.
2) Path to where the NPC was when it died (even though it is now alive and fighting)
3) Path to where he was when aggro was first gained.
4) The End. Pull big foe over to reset via failure.
also been broken in sorrows furnace for at least 3 days and from this thread in guessing nearly 2 weeks on some servers its a bit stupid it hasnt been fixed, its stopping progress for personal story players and its stop ALOT of people from finishing thier legendarys!
would like some offical imput as to whats going on and if its being fixed please alot of players are feeling left in the dark.

If your server has one or two of the invasion quests bugged try the suggestion that Deicide posted above, on Darkhaven we had both invasions bugged at the same time and after we killed them using risen we were able to uncontest the temple of balthazar yesterday.
Seems Warmaster Urho gets stuck every time when one of his pact members die. This is the case atleast on the middle path. And it doesn’t help his pact members are made out of paper.
Even the scaling on the events here don’t work as it should it seems, huge numbers keep spawning even when you are just with a few ppl.
Wouldn’t it be a good idea to just add a obsidian shard vendor to someplace else? Why must the vendor be behind the permanently bugged event chain anyways?

Pretty much sums it up. Even if someone manages to unbug one of the escort chains the following chain are hard without all the reinforcements from every path. Huge waves of mobs keep spawning even with few players. So scaling doesn’t seem to work on these either.
Couldn’t you add obsidian shard karma vendors to some other place? Is it fair for people to deal with bugged content that’s blocking progress for months on end?
And the fix would be very simple if you actually would bother with it.
Still bugged. Tried to do the event chain in Devonna’s Rest and one of them is dead. Unable to rez the one dead, yet the pact says 7/7 are alive.

Southern pact squad stuck right next to the finish point and there are apparently only 6 squad member but the status shows 7/7. Dont know where is that missing member. I got a elementalist to use glyph of renewal in earth attunement near the squad but nothing happened.

People are trying to complete this meta event but it stopped at the point ‘Escort the southern invasion Pact squad to the Pact rally point at Triumph Plaza’.
The NPCs from the invasion Pact are just standing in front of the Temple of Balthazar but the event does not advance. One NPC seems to be laying dead on the ground and cannot be revived but the event says “Pact members alive: 7/7”.
I would be very pleased if you could fix this issue.

The pre-event “Escort the Southern Invasion Pact Squad to the Pact rally point at Triumph Plaza” got bugged. It appeared that two NPCs were missing. We tried to kill the squad so that it would reset but there were always 2/7 squad members alive and nowhere to be found. When the whole squad was alive the event did not advance and the NPCs stood there, contemplating their impending doom probably. =)
Scrap the above. It seems that that particular event has its pathing all messed up. Instead of going to Pact Rally Point, they head towards the temple on their own before all the pact forces gathered in order to invade the Temple of Balthy.

This so much. I’ve been playing for a couple of months and I would like to get my ascended chest piece, but I can’t because I have to do this escort. That’s annoying. What’s annoying AND baffling, is that it’s been bugged for over a year. It’s glaring oversights like this that make it impossible to recommend this game to WoW friends.
