Sylvari Personal Story voice dialogue missing
It continues past level 20, I don’t have about 50% of the dialog up to and including the level 40 content.
Like you said, I hear all of my characters lines of dialog, just missing most of the NPCs.
I can also confirm that it continues in the level 30 personal story arc.
This has also been happening to me and I am near the end of the story line (lvl 80). I can hear my character’s lines but only silence for many of the npc’s. All the voices worked until recently.
yeah i’ve been doing lvl 40 missions and some dialogs are missing from various characters, like Tybalt, Lady Wi, and more. I have repeated them a few times and noticed the missing lines are not random, always the same ones keep missing.
Main character never missed one though
I doubt they’ll fix this before HoT hits, likely due to changes in the Sylvari storyline (but hopefully the changes to the sylvan personal story will correct the issue!)
Has anyone noticed similar problems in the personal story dialogue for other races?
Not sure if this has been filed yet, but I just noticed when running the first chapters (up to level 20 so far) of Personal Story for my sylvari character, the voice dialogue isn’t playing – typically for Caithe (usually her first few statements don’t play in each cutscene), but occasionally other NPC dialogue fails to play as well.
No issue with player character voice dialogue in said cutscenes, and I’m not sure how long the issue has been present, as I didn’t have a problem in the PS for my human character last month.
Only half or less of all voiced sequences are playing at all.
It’s not one race, it’s all stories.

Apparently changing sound settings to “Fastest” might help.
