I submitted this as a Bug Report but haven’t heard back yet, so I’m hoping someone here may have some insight.

I purchased a Transmutation Splitter for 300 Gems in order to separate my Ascended back piece from my Sclerite Karka Shell skin. When I used it, however, it simply removed the Resilient WvW Infusion from the piece and the Karka skin and Ascended stats were still combined.

Any ideas?

Did you transmutate your Ascended backpiece with Exotic Sclerite Karka Shell?
Are you sure you didn’t upgrade your Exotic Sclerite Karka Shell to Ascended Sclerite Karka Shell in the Mystic Forge? Because if you did it wouldn’t be a transmuted item and therefore couldn’t be split.

Thanks for the idea, Edgewater, but I did transmute the Sclerite Karka Shell into a Fractal Ascended backpiece (and, now that you mention it, maybe I should have just kept the two separate and upgraded the karka shell to ascended!).

So my hope was I’d get the Karka Shell (exotic) and the Fractal Capacitor (Ascended) out of the Transmutation Splitter.
