Weird Chat Bug?
Have you tried to accept the command even so? I mean even leaving it as “ém” and see what happens? Maybe it’s just a visual bug and the functionality remains. I remember seeing a similar bug with that circle that separates each someone’s ability on their nameplate, it would replace the circle for “È” when using Big fonts.
lol. That is an issue that I saw happen to people numerous times in GW1. It’s actually more of a ‘windows’ bug than anything. A computer restart was typically used. However, the cause is more likely that you accidentally changed keyboard layout. Windows can switch between them, apparently CTRL+SHIFT does it when one is set up >.< (which is likely what the issue always was then… Now, if only I could figure out what causes windows to ‘stick’ in a random direction sometimes)

Ctrl+shift should be the default key stroke that will change the keyboard layout. The main purpose behind this is to provide multilingual support.
If you would like to help prevent this from occurring, you should be able to alter the default keystroke in Windows.
For Windows 7,
1. Go to Control Panel -> Clock, Language, and Region -> Language and Region.
2. This should open up a window. From here, click the Keyboards and Languages tab, then click the Change Keyboards button.
3. This should spawn a new window. In here, go to the Advanced Key Settings tab and find the entry in the list called Between Input Languages.
4. Highlight this and select the Change Key Sequence Button below. This will spawn yet another window.
5. There should be a section in this window with the header Switch Keyboard Layout, and it will likely be set to Ctrl+Shift. Select a new assignment, or set it to unassigned. This should prevent you from having that happen anymore.
If you would prefer not to toggle any settings, you can always cause the é to go away by pressing Ctrl+Shift again. Note that you may have to press it more than once to get back to the / since it may swap through multiple layouts that have the é.
