With tonights patch, all my whisperer weapons (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Whisperer_weapon) have been changed to mighty weapons. Whisperer weapons bought from the trading post now end up as mighty weapons when you pick them up.

Confirming this. I came to report that my staff that was transmuted to have a Whisperer appearance has now reverted to its original appearance.

Confirming I’ve experienced the same thing. My Whisperer Rifle has spontaneously reverted to a Mighty one, any Whisperer weapons I attempt to buy on the TP are changed to Mighty as soon as I pick them up.

Confirming this as well. Been transmuting the rifle skin to my new weapons since I got it, and now it just shows as general mighty weapon. Tried to purchase a new one from the trading post. The picture of the item in search results appears fine, but the rollover image of the stats just shows a general mighty weapon and stays as a mighty weapon when purchased.

Feels oddly good not to be the only one… My staff and my scepter are still named whisperer, but they look like mighty ones.

Confirmed. I had been paying to buy transmute stones to keep the look of my whisperer rifle on my engineer. Now it’s the ugly looking newbie gun.

I also purchased 2 whisperer axe on my warrior and just picked them up… now they’re newbie axes.

Kind of a weird bug, and I truly hope it is a bug and ArenaNet didn’t stealth remove these skins as I paid good money for those transmute stones.

In the other night’s patch, we fixed this bug and converted the existing weapons into the intended skin. If you acquired the weapon through the intended means (joining the Order and purchasing the exclusive skin), those weapons were not affected by the fix. Only the ones that were erroneously dropped as core loot were affected. Apologies for the mistake! If you loved the skin, I highly recommend selecting the Order of Whispers through your personal story and you’ll be able to acquire it again.

Will the item be soulbound? Because I’ve already chosen the Vigil for my guardian, but I really liked that Whisperer mace. And from what I’ve read, we’re not likely to get an option to replay the personal storyline (not that I would do so just for the weapon skin, but I thought it worth pointing out anyway).

This explains it, but what about the people who used Greater Transmutation Stones for whisperer items without knowing about the skin mix up?

Will we be able to submit a ticket to recover our stone(s)?

Is there a similar weapon set for the vigil? These sound interesting..

In that case please fix the icon use for Whisperers weapons that was drop as loot, because they are still showing Whisperer’s icon instead of normal icon. Because this change was never communicated properly to us players I wasted my coins buying Whispered weapons through the trading post only to receive a normal weapons.

Yes, there are separate armor/weapon venders for each faction.

well thats upsetting as i bought a staff from the market just to use the skin it was a low level staff, i just thought the skin looked better then the steam one that i prevusly paid for from the market, so not only did i lose my whiserer skin but also the steam skin i got before that, would be nice if it was fix but we could get a similer skin to compasait the lose of the whisterer skin.

There’s nothing to compensate for. You were never supposed to have that skin anyways, unless you went that path in your story and paid specifically for it.

i paid for it from the market place, how was i to know i wasnt aloud to have it.

So will you be refunding our transmute stones at least?

These skins have been in since BWE1, so if it wasn’t intended they should have been caught before the game launched and many of us spent real life money getting transmute stones to keep the look.

Many of us are past the point of joining the Order of Whispers as we went with a different order, so that is simply not an option.

I wouldn’t be so upset if they were changed into something cool, but the newbie weapon look is just an insult.

I love your game, ArenaNet, but there are some highly questionable decisions being made here.

I’m in the same boat. I spent one of my transmutation stones I was saving and now I got the ugliest rifle skin on it. We should at least get our transmutation stones back.

Your mistake guys ! I spent my money to get better looking weapons that the ones having that same skins since the beginning of the game, and now, you remove it ?

I do love the skin, but still not have the level to go and get the Order of Whispers quest, what am i supposed to do ? Keep that boring same skins for my weapons I’ve been carrying for too many levels ?

Your graphic artists did what … only 2 or 3 different skins for each weapon (one for the order, one for the level zone 1-79 and a last one for 80s people) and that’s it ?

Seriously, I’m personnaly fed up with buying or acquiring brand new weapons, supposed to be more and more powerful but still looking like the same old stuff !

That new skins finally gave me the impression to see my character changing, evolving, and now you’re making him look like when I started playing the game.

We are working on updating the TP right now.

When I hit level 80, I had enough saved up to get a pair of axes. I picked two which were great for me stat wise, but they looked awful. ( Like level 1 axes. ). Okay, I thought, I’ll just shop for 2 other axes for looks and use fine transmutation stones.

I did such, and had two spiffy looking axes. ( I could have gone with any other of several graphics options. By chance I picked the Whisperers. Not for any other reason really ).

But now my axes look AGAIN like level 1 axes, after I spent the money to obtain two whisperer axes AND two fine transmutation stones, only to the very next day have this change put into place.

Please. This is your screw up. Don’t punish me by costing me currency and items. A refund of some kind should be in order here. At least for the fine transmutation stones which are roughly equal to 80 gems / $1 USD.

This is absolutely unacceptable! what you have done here is basically sell us a brand new Bugatti Veyron and then after leaving it in our garage overnight only to wake up the next day to find a Volkswagen beetle in the garage instead.

I have spent 2 days farming the Swamp area in the level 15 human zone waiting for the swamp events to get the darn rifle skin only for you turn it into an UGLY blunderbuss!

I would not have spent 2 days worth of farming just to get that UGLY SKIN.

I am incredibly unhappy with the way that this has been handled.

I request that the deveopers reimburse those affected by this the whisperer weapons that were removed in my case the Whisperer Rifle!

Your issue has nothing to do with this issue. Not all of us lost just time over this change. Some of us lost money, real money in some cases. Not to say your issue isn’t also serious.

I honestly don’t see what the problem is reimbursing people because of mistakes made on their end, especially after they’ve admited to the mistakes.

An “oops, sorry” doesn’t cut it when you dip into someone elses wallet.

I have been using the whispered rifle skin since level 20ish and now I am level 60+ so you can imagine how many transmutation stones has gone to waste since they patch it. This is basically punishing players for their own mistake, so is it wrong for us to get some sort of compensation for it.

So does that mean I have to roll a whisperer order char and bank one of their guns so my original char can transmute the rifle back to its CORRECT MODEL.

Or have you been snide and made the whisper stuff soulbound making that impossible?

I have the same question about each order having a unique skin, the Priory doesn’t seem to have anything to offer, or am I just not seeing it! Fortunately, I only lost two regular transmutation stones, which I wouldn’t mind back, but if not, at least a unique priory skin.

Last I check they are soulbound, just not sure if soulbound on aquire

Ive just checked and you cant transmute the skin of a soulbound item onto an item that isnt soulbound – which would have then allowed me to transfer it back to my main and then do another transmute to get my rifle skin back.

So its technically impossible now to get the Whisperer rifle skin back on my now Vigil aligned character.

Unless there is a way to obtain Whisperer gear in some other way? Can i drop Vigil after the story is completed??

=/ This massively sucks. My friend had the Whisperer Rifle, and now he only has this really awful looking blunderbuss after many levels and transmutation stones later. He also picked Vigil, so now there’s no way he’ll ever get the model back. Isn’t there some way to make everyone happy in this situation?

What they could do is make cultural and faction stuff you buy account bound rather than char bound.

At least then id be able to roll a character and have them go the whisper order path, so I could obtain my weapons again.

Or allow a character who has completed the storyline complete access to all Order specific merchants.
