I installed the update to my PC for Windows 8.1 last night. Today I tried to log in and the client crashed right away on simply pressing log in. I tried it with admin rights and I was able to log in but before hitting Play it crashed again. I set compatibility mode to Windows 7 and it crashed one last time. Finally I set the mode to Vista SP2 and I was able to hit log in -> play and the game loaded.

I never had the issue before Windows 8.1 and I’m just curious if anyone else with the operating system is experiencing this.

Disregard it seems there is an issue with TS3 / Overwolf. Closing out Overwolf stopped the crash

My problem is kinda different. After updating for 8.1, my client started crushing in LA and other places where lots of people are. Game just freezes and a task manager becomes the only tool that can help me.

Dont think it works as intended (of course, it obviously does not), and i hope for a quick respond. Thanks.

After upgrading to 8.1 gw2 always enable stereoscopic mode when changing zone / gfx mode. Kind of annoying..

Gerhalt, this sounds like a driver issue. Have you updated all your drivers after installing 8.1? There shouldn’t be much change, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any.

Had that same issue, you have to go to the control panel for your graphics card and deselect “Enable Stereoscopic 3D”.

As for other Windows 8.1 problems, my game seems to be running fine here.

…I had to re-install the drivers for my video card. Everything looked like a bad 3-D movie, and I’m all out of glasses. Now, it’s all nice and perfect again.
