So here’s what’s the issue. I had’t been online in about 2 months since I didn’t have access to a PC . Before I was playing constantly going for World Completion and was at about 97% (I think, not sure tho), without having explored all of the WvW maps. After logging in just today however, I had a 100% world completion on this character but didn’t get anything for it. However, when I log in-game it shows 99% and 3 new hearts. I’m so lost.

Were there any changes in the past 2 months for the World Completion criteria? Am I no longer required to explore the WvW maps anymore?

Yes, WvW maps are no longer required for World Completion. The missing Renown Hearts can be found in Caledon Forest (just left of the portal from the Grove) and Ashford Plains (speak to the Scout near the portal to Black Citadel – both Renown Hearts are to the left of the Portal).
