Guild Wars 2

I’ve had this happen in the past 2-3 days with 3 different characters, 2 different accounts, 4 different occasions that I’ve noticed. Maybe it’s happened more, and I didn’t notice. I’ve reported in game, but was wondering if anyone else is having the issues and wanted to provide more detail. Three of the times had some similarities.

First time, I crashed in the pvp lobby and immediately logged back in to returned to Lion’s Arch in a noticeably different location. I don’t recall where, but it was an area that character doesn’t really go to. I dismissed this as just a fluke.

Second time was a different character (level 80 human). I was doing gathering/exploration of Ascalon to the the SE of Vir’s Gate wp. I logged out and then logged back in after a little later and was between Smokestead wp and the portal to Black Citadel.

Third time was the same character as the second incident. I was doing Fields of Ruin events and logged out at Summit Peak. I logged back in an hour later to find my character at the Stronghold of Ebonhawke by the portal to Divinity’s Reach. I’ve never been to that area with the character and my map still shows unexplored area between there and my farthest FoR exploration.

Fourth time was on a different account (level 8ish Norn). I used the Shelter Rock waypoint to leave the end of the Shaman’s Rookery jp. I logged out and logged back in about a half an hour later. My character was at the eastern wp in Hoelbrak right in front of the portal to go to Wayfarer Foothills.

One thing I noticed is that in the latest 3 incidents, the characters were in front of closest portals that were marked as taking them closer to their personal story instance. Perhaps just coincidence, but wanted to note that. Also, I should note that no one else has access to my account and incidents occurred when I was at the computer or my entire family was together, and there are no signs of hacking

I’m also including the FoR map screen capture, since I couldn’t figure out a way to do that with the bug report in game.

Edit to add: It’s not happening all the time. I’d guess I’ve logged in and out of at least 9 different characters on two accounts at least 40 times in the past couple of days and have only noticed these 4 incidents, two of which occurred Sunday evening. The other two occurred Friday or Saturday.

I can reproduce the 2nd incident. I just went to Ascalon on the same level 80 human for the daily forager. From Lion’s Arch portal in Black Citadel, I went to the Vir’s Gate wp. I logged out and immediately logged back in. I was halfway between Smokestead and the entrance to Black Citadel.

I have not been able to reproduce incident #4 with the norn and Shelter Rock.

I’ve had it happen too. I’ve actually found it to be mildly amusing.

One time that it happened, it was on a human character that has completed the personal story. This instance differs from those on another character as this time I did a complete logout (logout→logout) to reset a graphics glitch. I’d entered Diessa from Black Citadel portal and was only there for possibly 15 seconds before logout. I ended up by the portal to Wayfarer Foothills.

On the other character that I’ve experienced this on that’s norn, it’s happened in Cursed Shore and Lion’s Arch. For Cursed Shore, I was on the middle set of steps in Promenade of the Gods and I ended up by the entrance from Malchor’s Leap. And again while next to the Arah dungeon portal which also landed me by the entrance from Malchor’s Leap. I was guesting to other servers. For Lion’s Arch, I was fairly close to the Mystic Forge and ended up close to where the Mystic Forge was before Scarlett attacked. In this instance, I’d logged out to reset some items so they’d stack again.

In case it matters, I have the content guide turned off. So I have no idea if anything it may be pointing to is relevant.
