Camera spinning like a skritt ballerina
This issue has already been posted lots of time. A lot of mac users have the issue atm. And previous experience I think it will take quite some time before this will be fixed.
If you want to get any kind of contact with devs about these issues, this is not the place to be! I have to say their ticket support works great and they reply fast but often just send you to the forums anyway. They told me all the issues posted here were known and that they are working on it (so how much is it to ask to confirm the on the forum/post it in the sticky… Unless they feel like that is too official and they can’t do that if fixing it isn’t a real priority. Why else…).
Anyway lets get to the point :P A lot of players can solve the mouse issue by using cmd-tab. Does this not work for you?

First off, thanks for responding. I wanted to make a new post because so far none of the other “camera spinning” posts mentioned that the characters also spin during character selection screen. Second, as I understand it, the cmd-tab fix if tried “may alter other programs on your computer”. That terrifying sentence has kept me from attempting it. I use my Mac for editing, compressing, writing, photoshop, and slew of other work related things. I’m not about to mess with the rest of my computer to solve a glitch on a game. Nothing on my end has changed, so this has to be a patch related issue, right? Anet needs to fix it. I may be understanding the cmd-tab fix wrongly though, so feel free to elaborate.
I stand corrected. Cmd-tab worked with no harm to other programs. I still think this needs a proper fix tho
I’ve had this problem before, in other winebottled games. It amounts to the game window not actually having foreground focus. Cmd-tab works, because when you bring the game back, it now assertedly has focus.
Why it, after the patch, no longer has focus after starting I can’t say, unfortunately. I’d be quite willing to blame the cider wrapper, especially since it’s doing the tgUpdate thing
heho i’ve got this problem too but the cmd+tab thingy doesn’t help…
im switching to the desktop, click on something and go back to gw2 and the camera thing is not solved…
is there any other thing i could do to stop that?
Does your client show “tgUpdate” bar every time you try to run GW2?
My camera spins whenever I use the mouse to look up/down.
I also have the “tgUpdate” bar every time I run GW2.
Are the two related?
At the moment, I can’t say, but I have the tgUpdate show up, and the camera will work fine.
Minimizing the GW2 screen and CRTL + Mouse click outside on the main screen does the trick for me.
Oneira, does it work everytime? If ANet is not addressing this bug at the moment, maybe we can at least get a thread going to address this. For me it started when I updated to Mavericks.
I also noticed, when GW2 acts up its as if it opens a second instance of the game, and it has a slight blueish hue at the login screen. Once the game loads, it goes away.
I’d like to say this problem pre-dates the Mavericks O/S update guys. It’s been going on a LONNNgggggggg time – over a year – and still no fix. I just restart the game again, and again, and again, and again…. and somewhere along the way it works. Three different Macs here btw, 2 iMacs and a Powerbook. How we love starting the game 5-7 times on average before it runs. Thinking about doing something else these days (yeah – really).
I had this problem two days ago.. I just did the thing I usually do on Windows with mouse problems… Minimizing and maximizing the game fixed it for me (command+tab)
I think the update to GW2 as described in the topic below should fix the “skritt ballerina” issue (BTW, still laughing at the analogy…would love to see a skritt dancing:) )
Let me know if this worked for you:)

yes it seems to work every time. Hopefully the new patch has solved the issue completely

Everyone who has let us know about the results of the process outlined in this thread has confirmed that the camera issue is corrected with the patch. I hope you’ll give it a try.

I’ve just disconnected from the game and the camera problem is back again.
