Client Graphics Displaced
Well, without asking too many questions first I’ll post a few bits to try, then if it doesn’t work… Start answering so we can try to figure it out lol.
Try using command+M. If that doesn’t help:
delete the contents of the gw2 data folder, it’s a pain to get to the right one: this step is a general fix for many tp and graphics issues, even without the previous steps however, it will lose all saved login/password and in-game settings.
Mine is located under the hidden Library folder (navigate using finder, do not use spotlight to search)
/[yourharddrivename]/users/[yourusername]/library/application support/guild wars 2
You may want to copy/paste this folder to your desktop as a temporary back up, just in case.
Delete the contents of that specific folder (you should see files like this contained within “config, dyndata.dat, user.reg, userdef.reg, and folders p_drive and wineserver…namestuff…loca..[long name]” just to list a few), then re-run the client..
~~Your folder is probably hidden (as is the default). Hidden folders display as greyed out text and icons. I found this after googling:
http://m.wikihow.com/See-Hidden-Folders-on-Mac-OS-X-and-Other-Recent-Models
You can also try holding alt while clicking "GO " in the finder menu bar unhide the correct Library folder, continue holding alt and click on Library (if you release the alt/option key, “library” will disappear. At least the link has visuals for you. Hope it helps.
If not, do you play in full-screen mode or windowed? When you get to the character select screen, can you use esc to get to the options panel and fuss with some graphics settings there? Let us know!

I was in the process of trying a completely new install, didn’t help, still does the same thing.
Minimizing the client with command+M doesn’t help either.
I play in full screen, altering the graphics settings though the character select screen doesn’t fix the problem forgot to mention it in the Original post.
Thanks for the quick response though.
Can you try lowering the resolution of your computer quite a bit and then launching GW2. This sounds odd but it looks like it’s trying to run the launcher in full screen for some bizarre reason so perhaps it can’t cope with your resolution?
Do you have any other programs or tweaks running while trying to play? and what exactly is your mac? MBP iMac Mac mini?
I was thinking something similar about the full screen, but I was hoping the gw2 folder might help “re-calibrate” gw2 lol.
Yes, please tell us what your system is.
Will think on this a bit more while waiting.

I run a Mac mini (2012), I also tried that bumping the resolution down but no help there.
My resolution is only 1600×1000 which i didn’t think was that excessive.
Are you using multiple displays?
The reason we suggested changing resolution is sometimes, it’s possible, to trick it into fixing itself.
