64bit: 8fps with right GPU setting!
I think I have excactly the same laptop as you, because I have the same problem. I have no idea how to fix this though.
You need to force the 32 client back. Do it so by adding -32 in the end of your GW2 shortcut destination, i.e.
“C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -32
It’s because the 64bit version is running your motherboards onboard gpu. You need to force it in the Nvidia control panel and it’ll be fine.

Thank you very much for this. There are two .exe now and NVIDIA was just set for the standard one, the “-64bit” was not included. Cheers!
Maximus, I do set both GW2 and GW2-64 to use NVidia graphic card in Nvidia control panel (as per attached image in 1st post). If it works there wont be this topic.
Sorry, didn’t click on all the images :S
Did you force if before the latest update? You could try and add it again if you did it when the 64bit version was in beta.
You could try and go in to your BIOS and see if it let’s you disable/change the settings for the onboard gpu. Or go in to your device manager in windows and disable the onboard GPU there.

As a simple test, rename Gw2.exe, then rename Gw2-64.exe to Gw2.exe. If no change, confirm that your dedicated GPU is actually activating or alternatively, disable the integrated one.

Just to ensure it would really work with NVIDIA in all considered aspects, I selected everything I could in the list of settings because most of them are set for “global settings”. No idea if that is really necessary but I did it anyway.

It looks like you’re using different graphics settings based on those two screenshots. For example the 64-bit one is anti-aliased, while the 32-bit one is not. Could you please double-check your graphics settings?
Hi Johan, since you noticed and responded to this thread concerning laptops performance, maybe you could respond to the following thread, which is affecting a massive number of people playing on laptop. Its not isolated to settings, its a game bug that affects ALL users with this configuration:
Windows 10 Laptop issues never been addressed by ANET:https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/stuck-on-loading-screen-when-switching-maps/page/2#post6160530
There are a large number of people with this problem and Anet has not even responded once to this issue. Its not an issue in any other game and is specific to GW2.
I just received a forum infraction for bumping the topic which is ridiculous. The only reason I have done this is that it seems impossible to get the devs attention to these matters; whereas others like this (with no disrespect) get an answer. Why?

Dude they can’t say they have problems, with there engine(dx9), or the fok server, what do you think they will say? I will tell you: – its your pc- hardware-software-your connections!
Just think how much they made with this game, and where is our comfort???? People with so great pcs- internet connections, and the game works the same, on low or full details! This is the game that you play, and will remain the same!!!! If not, show as you care after 3 years, we gone have dx11 or 12, i don’t want so see the skill lags, and the drop fps from 60 till 20-15. STOP this problems!!! i love this game, but… some times kitten me off:(
Ps: sry for my english
Silent, my post has nothing to do with skill lags or fps drops.
It is a gamebreaking bug that affects EVERYBODY with a Windows 10 laptop and an Nvidia mobile gpu. I wrote that post on the off chance that an actual developer can pass comment on it, but I see now that wont happen.
If you read the thread, its an issue that can be reproduced on every system, so it needs to be fixed by a dev. So far, it has been 8 months and not even a whisper from them about the problem and a fix, or even acknowledgement that the game has the issue. Not good enough.
What is really annoying is that they respond to threads like this that are a random users problem (simple task of selecting dedicated gpu rather than intel graphics for the exe file) and not the games, and completely ignore this massive issue that will affect everybody.

Looks like bug pops up only on laptops with Nvidia Optimus and only in fullscreen mode. I have gl552-vw and found out about infinite loading after I saw that thread and tried to reproduce it. I always play in windowed borderless.
