I downloaded the patch via the 32bit client after the 64bit client failed to. The 64bit client also fails to run even though the patch has been downloaded via the 32bit client.

One PC managed to get the patch, started to login then failed now can’t get back in, PC which was playing happily got kicked zoning and now stuck can’t even begin to patch.

I tried with the 32 bit client. That`s working. But with this one on the Dragon Stand the game will crash…

I tried to log without ReshadeUnlocker and worked fine …..when I started using it ….got the error message.

Now I can’t even log without using ReshadeUnlocker …..I guess sumnt wrong with Anet servers

GG. Either we get the 32 bit client and we just crash all the time, or we can’t log in at all.

Same, not working on 64 or 32 bit, just “retrying”

My laptop updated and runs just fine on the same connection btw.

Edit: Updated with the 32 bit client now, 64 bit is still retrying.

I have the same problem with the 64-Bit client and when I want to switch to the 32-Bit client, it wants to download the whole game again (roughly 300.000 files)… anyone having the same problem? I don’t want to download the game again.

Patching works by downloading an updated launcher, then downloading the patch to Gw2.dat. If you run the 32-bit client, Gw2.dat is updated, but you still need to update the 64-bit exe.

I’m assuming you’re seeing connection errors detected? It should pass eventually.

I confirm running the 32 bit client is the solution for my husband and myself aswell. 64 bit did eventually start up (after adding the -assetsrv + ip), but it remained at 5-6kb.

32bit client loaded in 15 seconds total.

64 bit client cycles between “Downloading (1k/0k)” for a short time, then “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…” for quite a while.

Something definitely broken with the 64-bit client. 32-bit client updated/launched normally.

Yes could not update with the 64 bit. Updated with 32 bit, tested if I could log in after that with 64 bit but could not. 32 bit works normally.

Then goto the post where the installation of the 64 bit client is explained. Just read 32 bit client where it says 64 bit client.

Had the same problem with 64 bit client; the 32 bit works. They’re in Program Files (x86) Guild Wars 2.

The 64 bit client still yields “Connection error(s). Retrying ….”

P.S. The 64 bit client is now working—may just have to wait a bit for it to connect.

Add me to the list. Tried downloading the 64 bit client again thinking maybe it was a new version but no luck.

The game is a crash fest without the 64bit client.

Dear ANET when having users beta test your software it is customary to in some way indicate what version of the software they are testing…. prehaps by naming the file or the link to said file via some convention such as GW264bits-1-2-3.exe or something. Come on this is 101 stuff.

Yep 64-bit client is now broken. Can’t download the patch or even launch.
Sometimes it works after a few minutes of retrying. But then it DLs at the awesome speed of 1KB/s.

32-bit client downloads everything very fast.

Ok, I just got it working by running a repair.

Go into your GW2 main folder and create a shortcut of the launcher (I used the 64 bit one). Right click on the shortcut, and select Properties. In the target line, paste exactly as follows:

“E:\GW2\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -repair

After some pausing and hiccups, this will eventually start the repair, and it should successfully patch. I have the game up and running now after doing this.

i could only find the 64 bit exe. what i did was make a copy of my .dat file, delete the 64 bit exe, download the game installer, setup a new install and then replace the dat file. its now patching
