So, 2 of guild mates just got banned, not newbie scrubs, but someone with very high AP. One of them is my in game teacher, taught me about dungeons back when i died on lower level mobs, step on landmine, and jump off cliff. The last few weeks, we’re promoting transfer to certain server for WvW purpose, they might be donating/sending/receiving 10-100g via guild bank, for some of our guild mates to purchase gem (not that i checked with them). They are pretty sure they weren’t purchasing gold, or selling it, ever. They tried to appeal by ticket, three times, all rejected, and no further information whatsoever about what they did wrong, just reply that looked so automated (thanks for contacting us, we can’t help, you don’t have to know why, third times already, no more support after this, bye).

I am not here to defend or appeal for them, no, i have my own question. Will i just get up one day, and look at all my hard work the past year gone, and without explanation other that i’m somehow involved in RMT, and can’t even get to know what was my fault.

“I am feeling lazy today, a ticket just in, another RMT appeal case, the system algorithm quite accurate, no need for further investigation, here down the ban hammer, say good bye to all your hard works, we don’t care what you’ve DONE or NOT DONE, after all, no loss on our side.”, is what i speculate is in concerned party’s mind.

Here my question:
- can i get banned for sending stuff to guild mates, and after a couple days, they return the stuff (replacing what i send them, usually time gated stuff)?
- can i get banned for crafting stuff on my alt account and sending the result to my main account (i got one alt account from discount back in HoT’s announcement)?
- can i get banned if i played on internet cafe which happen to have another GW2 player?
- can i get banned if i send 10-200g donation to fellow guild member via guild bank for server transfer purpose?
- in case i got banned after this post, can i get know reason ( and what do i have to do, to get explanation of my account termination), or it’s strictly Arena Net’s employee only?
- what are stuff i do, that Arena Net can categorize as RMT (obviously i know selling and buying gold is illegal, i even block and report people for that)?

Anet can track everything in game. If you’re not doing anything illegal, then you have nothing to worry about. You shouldn’t speculate on what your “friends” did, as GM Chris has shown a clear example of his powers and justifications in the other thread.

I’m sure they have a list of IPs that are commonly used by RMT employees. That’s just one way they look at accounts before banning. Now, if you buy gold from an RMT, they’ll probably just delete the gold, meaning you lost real money used to pay the RMT company (that you’ll probably never get back from your bank). If you’re involved in fraud directly, then that’s a perma ban.

In GW2, Trading Post plays you!

as it is, sending and receiving any amount of gold looks like a RMT. Whether anets picks up on it or not all depends on the amount you send/receive. The larger amounts are just more obvious because nobody would buy 50g.

a·chieve·ment – a thing done successfully, typically by effort, courage, or skill
re·ward – a thing given in recognition of one’s service, effort, or achievement
en·ti·tle·ment – the belief one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment

I’ll answer your questions, because others might have them.

Here my question:
- can i get banned for sending stuff to guild mates, and after a couple days, they return the stuff (replacing what i send them, usually time gated stuff)?

I don’t see how you would get banned for this.

[i]- can i get banned for crafting stuff on my alt account and sending the result to my main account (i got one alt account from discount back in HoT’s announcement)?

If this is specifically the case, no.

- can i get banned if i played on internet cafe which happen to have another GW2 player?

Yes. This is more of a situation of a shared network where users that are on the same network may catch a ban by association if one of the accounts running on that network is bad. Generally this can be cleared up on appeal, but it’s been known to happen.

- can i get banned if i send 10-200g donation to fellow guild member via guild bank for server transfer purpose?

Not likely to happen, it’s very possible that if you do for a large number of users you may get flagged for review, but it’s very unlikely that we would not be able to pick up on your actions immediately.

- in case i got banned after this post, can i get know reason ( and what do i have to do, to get explanation of my account termination), or it’s strictly Arena Net’s employee only?

There are “extreme” cases where someone may get their account banned for posting on the forums, but forums and game access are seperate, they very rarely talk to eachother about bans.

- what are stuff i do, that Arena Net can categorize as RMT (obviously i know selling and buying gold is illegal, i even block and report people for that)?

Yah, I’m not going to answer that question. Sorry, but it’s very safe to say if you are RMT, you kow you are RMT.

Here’s a good read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_economy

As for this:
“I am feeling lazy today, a ticket just in, another RMT appeal case, the system algorithm quite accurate, no need for further investigation, here down the ban hammer, say good bye to all your hard works, we don’t care what you’ve DONE or NOT DONE, after all, no loss on our side.”, is what i speculate is in concerned party’s mind.

What?

I think they are saying that some concerned parties worry that someone in ANet support, “feeling lazy”, might just reject an RMT appeal case (that is, someone alleging they were wrongly banned for RMT) just writing it off saying the system’s algorithm (for detecting RMT I guess they mean) is quite accurate. That’s what I gather from it anyway.

Is there some kind of bug in the search feature for the blocked players list? Why does ‘noob arah’ come up when searching for ‘go’?

Some people are mistakenly ‘banned’ for RMT interactions. But, with repeated updates to your ticket, and evidence/explanation shown how the account was triggered and why, the account is returned. I know, it happened to me.

Just don’t deal with those that may be nefarious, and you should have no issues.

Good luck.

I suspect “Noob Arah” may have had an account name containing “go”

PRE, you might want to remove your post as such posts are against forum rules. You can, however, after 7 (seven) days, post your guildies’ ticket numbers in the pertinent Sticky above for Review.

Good luck.
