I’ve just come back after a long break and I’ve been unable to play due to constant disconnections and 1k+ latency.

Are there any other Aussie players out there experiencing this kind of lag? Is there something happening that Anet is already aware of? and finally, without any in game tech support to help with this issue (AFAIK) is there any advice anyone can give me to fix this?

yep, experienced the same thing when i returned. Not quite 1k ping but it was bad. Still experiencing it here and there. ANet just don’t care about us

Hi! If you’re from Australia, you might want to check in with your isp about the SEA-ME-WE3 sea cable damage. Might be the cause of your high latency.

From Au too… I’ve not noticed any unusual lag lately. In my experience, it is more likely the issue comes from your connection to NA, rather than Anet’s servers themselves… i.e. because of the distance, there a lot more stuff that can go wrong in the connection between us and Texas, more so than a US resident.
