Black Screen issue (need help)
Wonder if the display driver is crashing. Is the GPU overheating? Do you know how to check for this?
MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk EK X 2xSLI 2025 / 11016 MHz, liquid cooling custom loop.
Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB. HTC Vive.
Will try to download a program to check this and see if this is the case.
The game itself goes black, but doesn’t actually crash? Can you get out and close the game or do you need to do a reset on the computer? If you’re running windowed does only the window go black? Next time it happens, check the Windows Event logs for errors. Try changing your windows power management profile to performance, that than the default of Balanced.
So after trying out more stuff with ports it still does not work When the game “crushes” its still running in the task manger ,and there are no errors and I’ve tried to contact support about it to no avail.

If the black screen is limited to GW2 and you can switch to other programs, press F12 on the black screen. If the logout dialog appears, it’s caused by packet loss and your router could be causing this. If possible, try bypassing your router, otherwise you’ll need to experiment with its settings. You can also try running the game on port 80 (Gw2.exe -clientport 80). If you’re simply experiencing packet loss however, only a VPN will help.

I created a ticket and they said to download a software called “game advisory” I got the file from the software and mailed it to them and they just didn’t answer.

When I get the “black screen” I can see the options menu by clicking F11 and see the log out options when I click F12 Ive tried to do all kinds of stuff with my router and tinker with it but nothing worked still suffering from black screens.

If this was recently, be aware that response times are delayed due to high volume.
If not recently, try updating your ticket.

also have this problem. incredibly annoying. playing with the router settings like alot of the posts suggest have no effect.
