“Maybe I was the illusion all along!”
Black screen, and tons of login issues.
“Maybe I was the illusion all along!”
A black screen but still being able to access the menu is a bug. For whatever reason, when GW2 doesn’t receive a certain packet, it’ll do that. Unless you changed routers or firewall/network software since this started happening, chances are the cause is out of your control and only a VPN will help you. You could also try -clientport 443.
Since yesterday I have had some issues with the login where, frequently it did not accept my authentication code but would work after a couple tries.
If you’re using a (Google) authenticator, your time is probably out of sync causing the code to be invalid. It has a 30 second lifespan.
If you’re requesting multiple codes, it invalidates the previous.
Today I have had to change my password twice due to it not recognizing my password, despite my “current logins” showing the same IP I am normally on.
Remembered IPs only allows you to skip the authentication code. If your email/password combo is failing, either someone is changing your password or there’s something wrong with one of the login servers. You can try different servers using the -authsrv option and IPs can be found using the -diag option.
I’ve noticed after logging out, and back in (without a black screen crash) on certain characters it would put me in Lion’s Arch, just west of the Traders forum way point.
That is the default location when the game doesn’t know where you should be. It can happen by simply waypointing to a map then logging out for example.
