They have been running 24/7 as I check to see them nearly everyday ..

I visited Sanctum of rall and discovered they have a bot infestation of same locations..

So how often should I submit report of same bot(s)? Once? Daily on everyday I see them when I log in?

So far the reports have failed to produce results.. going on at least a week or more since submitting reports via gui report system…

Well i see all the bots I have reported over a week ago are still operating without impunity 24/7.
Does this mean they are permissible to use?
Even if it is not it appears the chances of being banned before making a profit is slim, and only justifies the purchase of the bot and game for a alt that even if banned will have resulted in a net profit for gold sellers..who can turn around and create another bot with the gains, resulting in only minor loss in profit so it seems

I just saw and reported about 10 bots, and I believe there was a few more I missed.
They were all appearing in Malchor’s Leap right outside the portal that leads to Curse Shore (Anvil Rock). They appear for about a second than disappear, teleporting to the next map or a node somewhere.
Some of them were using the SOME guild tag which was used by another bot group that was farming Sorrow’s Embrace and was reported earlier by some others, including myself.
Do you guys check the guild networks of bots that are reported, there may be many more that can easily be nabbed by doing this.

I’ve seen more and more bots that basically teleport from node to node to farm them.

You can’t even get a lock on them to report, because an area may have +-3 nodes right there that you can see and the bot will farm, but then its just gone and theres no way to keep up and find them again.

I’ve been a victim of a botter for about a month and a half. my account was terminated for a week, the suspended, the re-instated, then the botter showed back up today….. here is a dmn good way to amply-fie the security on peoples accounts. Nexon.com (horrid company that i hate but..) has a mmorpg called Vindictus. the suggestion I have for you is to mimic the second password system they have. it’s a total mouse based password on a fluctuating number grid. key logger’s cannot copy

Just saw and reported 9 bots going in and out of Sorrow’s Embrace.
This is the second time I’ve seen a gang of bots doing that dungeon.

1, Southsun Cove along the beach where all the Skelk spawn
2, Fissure of Woe
3, 2 bots are there 24/7 although another has turned up. But they generally are all there about 2pm GMT

They have been famring this area for a month now, I have used the in-game /report function everyday for the last month and still they farm there.. One even has a golden title now.. -.-

Okay.. So.. I don’t know if I can call it hotspots, but have seen the same bots running around for weeks in Frostgorge Sound (Ring of Fire) between Frostwalk Thundra and Earthshake Basin. It’s a necromancer.. And yes, he’s been reported.. By many people.. Still running there though..

Also there’s a ranger running in the same circles down in Cursed Shore, between Jofast and Meddler. He’s been running around there for weeks as well, even though he’s been reported in-game loads of times.

Some of the names I’m seeing constantly. This time was pretty weird. The escort started and I was first on the scene. Players started coming through to fight and it was tough with most of them going down repeatedly. None of them were ressing each other, but would come back and run right into the middle of the fray. After all the enemies had been killed, Almonia and her crew were all dead needing to be revived. The players just stood there, and then all at once began running away from the event. None stayed to res Almonia and see the event through. I see these names time and time again. It might take someone watching one of these bots a little while to pick up on it, but they are definitely there.

Some might ask; what’s the complaint, you’re getting help right? The problem is the event scales to a higher power because of more people, but without the human element helping it doesn’t go well. It really ruins the game for me and I’m sure others. Also, knowing I’m playing and they just let the computer do it all for them, reaping the rewards of the grind.

Well Gaile, I have reported and reported and reported. I’m done reporting. I think you guys need a get a better handle on these botters. They are smarter than you think. I have exactly 6.37 hours of video footage recording these guys with their bots. And I have had enough. So tired of seeing the inflation of the AH because of them. They get to run amuck on the servers and we the legit players pay the price.

I currently have my friends list loaded with suspected botters that I have recorded on video of their routes and routines that are continuous over & over & over for hours on end and there are a few of them I have reported for the past few months and yet they are still on the server.

I know I know…How do I know they are bots then if ANet is still allowing them to be on the server. They must not be a bot right? WRONG!!!

In the game that shall not be named I was a professional botter for 2 years. Multi-Boxing 4 accounts at the same time. So do I know what to look for in a botter? I think I have that credibility to say yes I do. And since I have been playing this game I have seen no reason to have to bot due the certain aspects of the gameplay you guys have in place. Yes it is starting to turn into a grind, but I played for 5 years in this same style in the game that shall not be named. So I’m used to it. And I do enjoy it to a certain point so long as there is a goal involved. Almost have everything for my 1st Ascended Weapon

Back to the Botters. The Video I created shows all of them doing their thing. Names and All. But as you said in your OP we are not supposed to show the names of shame in this forum.

I mean seriously. Why not shame them? Why not burn them into the ground? You ask us to play by your rules, and for those of us that do we abide by them. But these botters don’t care about your rules. They don’t care what you say. They don’t care how you feel. They don’t care if your feelings are hurt. They are there to EXPLOIT the system and ANet is letting them.

Don’t get me wrong. You guys have gotten rid of a lot of the botters in the past. But if you guys don’t keep up with their methods along with all the botting programs out there 8 of them to be exact and learn how these guys are circumventing your game your never going to beat them at theirs. I can’t even count how many botters I have destroyed by reporting them over the past year. I know the number is extremely high.

So being as I can’t post their names I will say this much. I’m done reporting Gaile. I’m Sorry But I’m tired of seeing them and I’m also tired of taking my time out to report these guys and not see anything getting done about the ones I report. I am very diligent when it comes to reporting. I mean seriously…6 and half hours of video footage showing botters at their worst? Don’t you think I have done my bit and then some? Spending my time to hunt these guys down and watch them for hours on end and recording it to make sure I have the evidence to back up my claim?

I will be posting my video on Youtube so the masses can see how to read these guys and know what to look for in spotting a botter. This way maybe some of the legit players will actually learn what to look for and know when & how to spot a botter. It’s so simple even my wife who doesn’t play the game knows what to look for and how to spot them while I’m playing.

As for where to find the botters in Ehmry Bay, Everywhere….But here are a few hot spots I have found them every day all day.

Ehmry Bay
Malchor’s Leap & Cursed Shore – Numerous Bots – All hours of the day.
Frostgorge Sound – 5 or 6 Botters – All hours of the day.
Timberline Falls – Farming the Jotun @ Thistlereed Grove – You guys get these botters when I report them pretty quick. All hours of the day.

In closing, you guys have gotten better, but it still needs some serious work and some serious dedication to make your game Bot Free. You have to know where to go and what to look for to find these guys and track them down and spend hours making sure it is a bot. And I don’t mean just watch them in game. Download these botting applications and tear them apart and look at the coding. They are so simply put together it’s almost a joke. And I don’t just report willy nilly. I spent hours watching these guys and making sure it’s a bot before I report them. So when I report a bot, It’s not just something I suspect. I Know for a Fact it’s a bot.

There must have been at least 5-15 bots in there some were doing circles others were just chilling out casting spells, they were all stolen accounts.

I can agree with Soukuw on the circled area on map. There are 3 suspicious characters without guild, that are running in circle nearly the entire day same characters all the time same spot.

Even when there is not orichalcum node in that area below Temple of Lyssa they still go there to kill risen/undead.

I have followed one of these characters around and they are just killing trash risen over and over again plus the do not respond to whisper or PM even when I ask them “hallo, are you a bot”. These could be smart bots that has the real player actions recorded like a macro and played back over and over.

The person behind the bot might change his pre-recorded macro and cycles them between different templates.

I have been reporting these 2-3 bots that I see 24×7 at Malchor’s Leap. below temple of Lyssa every day without fail for over 2 weeks now.

I have even added them to block-list (first week, I added them as friend, mail/pm all no respond) so I can see where they are. Turns out. 24×7 same toon at malchor’s leap. same spot every time when I bump into them. Yet Arena is not banning their account. Even if you can. Some guy is gonna cry foul on your forum using another account to post, saying he is innocent.

It’s definitely a bot ! Do not need a program to tell you its a bot. A botter is also a human behind. that can cry he’s innocent even when he’s not.

Been going my usual route at cursed shore. I can see more bots and humans. ! I found a total of 5 more bots in Cursed Shore alone.

I have already reported them. These are confirmed bots. I have tried email, whisper and say.

Please enact a ban system that kills bots faster.

Been seeing a lot in orr on Anvil Rock. Added 10 to my block list in the last hour and reported.

Bots are harder to kill than Legendary Champions.

Make sure arena identifies the linked account to this bot account and ban them both.

Issue out a warning letter to all players even if they have a separate account on botting, they might send gold/mats/gear to their real account.

Ban them both. Or better still the items/gold/materials they sent instantly become unusable when the botting account is removed/banned.

After post some report some another new bot smart than old one.

-They buy 2nd hand ID to play bot.
(From selling ID who quit this game./Cheap/have good gear/achivement.)
-Join some guild is BIG and famous and have mass player online.
(Hard to control everyone in guild.)

Anet how do you control or make them hard to come back or suffer from play as bot?

Yeah these bots are driving me insane. The other day my mate and I were in Malchor’s leap and saw a few “people” running around just farming nodes and mobs. After watching one stop in the middle of battle to turn circles for 20 mins, and another running into a wall and then kept running we knew these suckers were bots. We ended up following the group around for more than an hour to see their path and patterns. They never spoke, never responded to anything we said. ALL of them were in some of the larger guilds, I’ve informed the guild leaders I could get hold of. These suckers ran amuck all over the place. We reported every single one we saw. I now assume that everyone that I see in Orr is a bot until proven otherwise. The attached photo is the path that we saw them running on.

We did have some fun with them. We would kite larger mobs on them more than they could handle and then we would watch them die. They would lay there for a bit before re-spawning and then we would do it all over again.. Hunting Bots was more fun than killing mobs down there.

A-Net should make it an achievement to kill as many bots as you possibly can. lol I know it wont work outside of PvP, but I wished it would work.

Bots would appear at waypoint right outside dungeon hop once then disappear. One bot reappeared right at the portal to HotW making it seem like it is tied to that dungeoon.

Since I placed list of bots in here (I’m sure those are bots), yet my post is deleted how can I make sure those account can be revieved?

I reported them in game for a long time but I don’t see any action which is really depressing. Basically they run area that I often farmed for some mat (straits of devastation upper right corner).
I often farmed that area for mats that I could sell and use that gold, yet they kinda kill the market for me so I guess since I see no action taken from raporting it’s OK with the game to have some bots ruining my fun.

There are many I runed one one today and I cant post him in here. Should I make wides showing they way bot works or something? I really want to get rid of them.

A very good question. I wonder on the same thing.
It’s sad but I guess I know why I see more and more bots selling gold.
Please make a big priority again on bot fighting!

Bots are found in tutorial missions every night. Either in Explosive Intellect, Fury of the Dead, Defending Shaemoor, The Great Hunt, or Fighting the Nightmare. Their only purpose is to spam gold sales via PM, rather than the usual map chat in Lion’s Arch.

Karka Island, deep in the water at the outer edges of the islands teleport hacks with rangers and pets with a script written for instant revival and teleport back to farming locations after I lured more than the bots could handle.

1. Frostgorge Sound, mixed in with actual players who are in Champion zerg train.
2. Blackgate
3. Bots are able to be spotted during all periods of the day.

I recently guested to Jade Quarry and found that they have a strong presence of bots running with the zerg there too..

On both Blackgate and Jade Quarry (I have not checked any other servers) it seems that the bot presence is exceptionally strong around 0200 Central Standard Time.

Also to note, majority of these bots seem to be rangers. They also wear the “Golden” or “Combat Healer” title tags quite frequently.

Mostly necros and guardians. Some I have been reporting for months, one is over 5-6 months (altough to be fair, there was a month, when I didn’t see him) and I even frequently ask my guildies to report them too, maybe that helps.

Mostly, lvl 2 rangers. They are repping obvious front guilds but do switch to w/e guild the account owner they hacked into is in. Their names are along the lines of “RFFFTWOEOEILLS lskdjOI” (the usual) but have been getting crafty.

Sorry for posting on bugs, but it is an entire train at Ehmry Bay, in Frostgorge Sound. They run the champ route and have very telling behavior. I don’t have video capture on my system, but if anyone reads this that does please go there at get some footage. The way they ignore aggro and skip the Quaggan spawn if it is “too far” is a dead giveaway.

Teleporting onto nodes, usually in such a way that you cannot click on them to report them.

I’ve been doing some recent Iron Ore farming since it is profitable at the moment and apparently the bots have the same idea.

On a dead server like Devona’s Rest, they have a LOT of room to work without being seen by players.

Every rich node across Gendarron, Timberline, Maelstromand most maps these days has bots appearing and disappearing, with many mining almost underneath the node… add to that the increase in gold/item seller spam lately.. its becoming a soup bowl and then of course there are the more menacing things that are appearing across the game modes.. WvW threads being deleted on such topics is not all that encouraging especially with the tournament just around the corner

My girlfriend and I were doing some late-night mapping in Frostgorge Sound to get the waypoints for the champ farming train, when suddenly a group of people came out of nowhere and started doing the run a little too organized. My girlfriend and I started thinking they were a bot group, especially when they started overlapping skill usage and vanished when I spooked the lead account by asking about them to see if anyone was at the wheel.

1. Map and Location: Frostgorge Sound, in the champ farming areas (from [Drakkar Waypoint], [Dimotiki Waypoint], [Skyheight Steading Waypoint], and [Earthshake Waypoint])
2. World (aka server): Sorrow’s Furnace
3. Date and time of day, plus timezone: 3/21/2014 from around 3:32am Pacific to 3:45am Pacifc (at which point they all abruptly stopped doing the run when I spoke to them, after the character at the lead of the conga line was the only one to respond).

They all ran the exact same path, even when it was more out of the way, and though they were composed of different classes, all characters of one class would spam some of the same skills at the same time from what we could see.

I would definitely take a look into the game logs for this map at this time to figure out what was going on there.

On the TP, I found out there was a bot on the item “Mini Twisted Watchword Moa”. It would always outbid me by a copper very soon after I placed a bid. Whether I placed a new bid 10 minutes or an hour later, always a bid would be placed within about 10 seconds of me placing a new bid.

It’s a very obscure item.

So I decided to see where its limit was (near 7g59.00), and made him automatically overbid me near his limit (at 7g59.01). I then dumped my minis, one by one, in his approx. 200g fund everytime his buy offer would come up, every 30 seconds or so. I know the size of the fund he allocated to this item because I depleted it.

Tp being botted at night – Rares level 77-80 (Mace, Focus, Shield, Torch, Warhorn, Harpoon gun, Spear, & Trident with current bids up to around 35s each). Typical tp bot behavior, putting in bids for 2 of them over and over etc.

Bot suspected in TP. Outbids every offer by 1 copper within a minute with only an order of 5 units.

Can be found on the following items:
Honed Magician Gloves (Fine, lvl 38)
Ravaging Magician Boots (Fine, lvl 39)

It is rare for an item to have that much of a price different between buy and sell orders. Real players, such as myself, could be making gold but people have bots doing it for them. Where I can make hundreds of gold a day, they can make thousands.

Protip: A large percentage of rich players in the game (in every game) are botters – very easy to investigate and ban.

Want to know what a lot of them are most likely doing? Using a different copy of the game because you like to have discount sales so much. I myself have a second copy of the game, but I don’t use it. Though, I’m starting to wonder why I shouldn’t if nothing is done about botters. Trading post botting has obviously been going on for a long time now.

Why should I spend hundreds of $ on the game (like I have) when you can simply bot and convert gold to gems instead?

I’m not going to, but there’s you incentive to actually ban people – they aren’t buying your gems with real money.
