probably something related to login server… i am experiencing the same thing. strange thnig is i got disconnected with a message telling me that some other client logged in form my account !

i know about 6 hours or so they patched the game and after that the game went to hell about an hour or so ago we got a message in game saying we are shutting down the servers for maintenance dont know when they will be back up and running

There is server maintenance going on, it should be back on soon enough.

It would be nice if they had some kind of pop-up in the launcher or maybe a sticky on the forums saying there’s maintenance going on.

Just right after I typed this, I managed to log on to Dragon’s Stand.
All good now.

I get to the character selection, but when logging in with one (tried with two characters), I get the following: Network error… Code: = 1083:5:7:1595:101

While the issue may appear to be the same. It is not. The issue people are currently experiencing was caused by a patch and is being worked on. Hold tight and it will be fine soon. Dragging up very very old threads does not help.

I got same issues as Korn, and I promise you my internet connection is perfectly fine!….I just want to play my Rev!

Getting this since patch yesterday evening. Woke up this morning and tried it, still happening many hours later on the other side of maintenance window.

1) App has been restarted, more than once.
2) I have a 2nd account with some lowbie alts that I tried and it WORKS (both should be on Henge of Denravi for home world)

So this is NOT a “network error” at least not right now. Something from being logged in or attempting during last nights SNAFU has left my actual account in a bad state.

First off, I’d love if this got fix obviously since I can’t play on mains and can’t play HoT. Secondly though, someone is throwing the wrong exception in the depths of the code on this. Might want to look into tweaking your error checking to report more accurately as clearly there is a condition claiming network error that is not so much of one.

Soon? The game has been completely unplayable for nearly a week now!

Every time I try to login since last night I get this network error: 1083:5:7:1595:101… The game lets me log in to character select just fine and sit there as long as I want, but soon as I select a character and the map begins to load it crashes and I get this error message. I have tried different characters to rule out that old bug where one character gets bugged out and prevents log on.

Still getting the same error and can’t get past the character select screen on any character.

This seems to have worked for me as well. I have now logged in and also changed 1 map. Don’t know if that will be 100% but seems to work for now. So:

1) Fixable in this case with https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/external?l=https%3A%2F%2Fhelp.guildwars2.com%2Fentries%2F28148006-Repairing-the-Game-Client (at least on win 7)
2) Still not at all a network error

Hope the repair works for anyone else stuck today.

I got myself fixed. logged in a character that was sitting in lions arch and waypointed to all the zones that I had characters stuck in. Then I was able to log them in with no problems.

Same thing happening to me. I have connection and trouble shot everything along with it. Optimized disk, cleaned disk, and error-checked disk – relogged and still had the issue. Has the issue resolved yet?

I have the same issue. It started last night after the patch loaded and still not able to play. It has been 12 hours.

The only thing I had to fix after logging in was my elite spec. I had to redo the traits for the new elite spec so I could equip my weapon again.

The repair process did say at one point no response but i let it go anyway and it still finished.

I repaired the game client (Repair tool crashed) and then ran as admin and was able to login. Might be coincedental though.

This worked for me. I repaired the client and did not run as administrator. The repair tool crashed once, then went through the second time without issue. Thanks mysticeyesx!

Thanks for that tip. Repair wouldn’t work. I logged an alt as suggested and was able to get back in with my main after that.

After the last patch last night, I can log in to the game but after I choose my character the game says “check internet connection”. As you can see I am connected to the internet but the game still wont let me play. Anyone else having issues like this?

I’m having the same problem. Was working fine until I tried to log in this morning.

I had this problem since yesterday until just now, logging out from the launcher and entering my password again seemed to fix it. Weird.

I am also experiencing the “check internet connection” issue. I will try what was suggested in the other threads and see what happens. I was able to log in my main previously, but whenever I would zone over to a different area the same issue would occur again.

I’m having the same problem.

Don’t do a repair. It takes too long. The method I tried below fixed it for me.

Delete GW2’s temporary file so it has to regenerate the file. You’ll only lose your graphics and sound settings but that’s it.

It fixed it for me.

Go here: C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2 and delete the “Local.dat” file.
