Woohoo! Works for me again, but since I’ve read some of the posts before this one, I hope it’s all fixed now.

update now working and logged in to game since the repair patch they have done

Working now, didn’t do anything else and just waited ty ANet

Weirdly it’s all now OK on my laptop but not my desktop.
The above workaround makes the desktop work too but it’s a bit of a puzzle.

Working on the issue with our service providers. Still no ETA.

I really hope you have not tried to go cheap with service providers… this wait time will tell. Ive been apart of other games when DDOS and it can take days not hours

They’ve switched CDN providers within the last few hours (NA), so you may need to flush your DNS to get the updated records. cmd.exe: ipconfig /flushdns

So I just decided to give this game a shot. I’m completely new to the game and this is preventing me from even being able to install. hope it’s fixed soon so I can get started.

don’t know if we have the same problem but there was a gw2 update AND a win 10 update on my machine last night. got the error msg you have and discovered that gw2 was missing from from my firewall exceptions. readded gw2-64.exe and now the game works.

Just tried to log in and getting the same message still.

As stated above, if you are geeky then flush your DNS.
If you are not geeky then reboot the PC and try again.

I still have connection errors. Can’t log in.

Also i want to share some observation. Today at early morning Tequatl, near event’s end i had lag spikes. Knowing about recent DDos attacks, this could be related.

+ some of my party members, had a chat lags.

EU user here. After completing the patch edit the exe shortcut again and add -authsrv 206.127.146.73 -assetsrv 64.25.41.2 to file. Worked for me. So not only one of these, add both

the temp fix asset thing isn’t working, the message doesn’t appear that no internet connection until after i enter my password and code and go to log in.

so please come up with another fix This -asset 64.25.41.2 only allows the message not to appear on open of game log in, it appears after you try to log in, how is this a fix

I have the same thing as STRKON, I can login but after that I get send back to the startup screen and the same error appears again. I have done the DNS thing Chris suggested, but it is not working for me. I will wait then

No, but it would probably be best since Google DNS is more up to date than what your ISP provides.

First you should try flushing your DNS. Open cmd.exe (search the start menu) and enter the following command:
ipconfig /flushdns

Alternatively, you can use the -assetsrv option mentioned throughout this thread.

And I am one of those who might mess up my system, so I am going to wait it out. Make breakfast and do some house cleaning until it comes back on…or make breakfast and read a book…this is my day off of work.

Hey! I uninstalled today, and tried reinstalling, and I’m getting these same issues. Have had this issue since yesterday, AFTER the patch was released. I can’t run the program as an administrator, to install this game either, nor can I run it in compatibility mode either.

OK i take it all back, DEV are working diligently to fix, it must be stressfull for them to read and know so many people are affected. The pressure is on, and I can only imagine them scrambling to fix. But just understand its just a frustrating for us players too to have errors on a loved game. After an update to game and also windows came out with a large update last night also.

Please just roll back you fix from yesterday and let us play till you fix your fix

just got my alt to lvl 34 and this happens and I’m newish player does anyone know how long itll be down for

So before all this stuff happened I did not realize the servers were having an issue.. So I uninstalled and tried reinstalling. I then did all the possible fixes like flushdns, registerdns, restarts of all the necessities. Hour or two after waiting I got to where I could download, so I did that. As I was downloading files and such I tried logging into the launcher, it then gave me an error and I could not. My download finished, closed my launcher restarted my PC and now I’m getting Download Failed! Please check your internet connection and try again. Soo I am not sure if it’s me or servers but yeah this is my issue now after the possible “fix”.

We believe the issue has been fixed, however due to some DNS servers taking longer to update than others, some may still be running into issues. Hopefully this is resolved for everyone soon.

Still the same issue in EU.. I wonder, if you stay with “we believe it’s fixxed” or if ya’ll update us again.

Hey Chris, was still getting the error in NA, I tried the -authsrv 54.89.152.137 -assetsrv 64.25.41.2 suggested and it worked. Thought I’d let you know, I saw the post from 2 years ago for the work around suggested here, so I thought I’d make a reply post for you to see so you know which was working

They are working on it. It has been mentioned multiple times. It’s not something that happens frequently. Jeez, calm down man. go outside. take a smoke.. try again later… w/e
