Guild Wars 2

It is as simple as topic says it. There IS fonts in game that support cyrilic letters, the one used in black lion trading post, for example. Yet, the chat one isn’t. It is INSANELY easy to add cyrilic to ANY font that doesn’t support it initially, yet, we can’t get it for how many years?

ArenaNet made a great game, yet refuses to open their product to even bigger auditory of players. I have A LOT of russian friends that don’t want to even try Guild Wars 2 just because they can’t make a russian guild there and write in russian in guild chat, or in parties, or in private messages. This bothers me to no end, really. I just can’t imagine any real problems that adding this can cause, except for appealing to higher amount of people.

Oh, and they WAS notified of this problem of as early as beta-phase of original game.

Also, adding a screencut of russian language ALREADY in game. At least on gem purchase page. The most important one, right!?

That is really strange indeed. So there are parts of the game that support Cyrillic but others don’t? Wow, that stinks. I wonder what people in Asia do — are their fonts and keyboard layouts being ignored as well?

Being messed with creation of sites, i have worked with fonts before, and been modifying them myself to add cyrilic even if it doesn’t support it initially. It looks abit off if not intended, but it works. Thats all that i am, and russian community, asks for. And WAS ASKING FOR for 5 years. kitten. Wheres decensy in descriminating LANGUAGE that hard?

Problem is, cyrillic support is tied directly to the FONT that is beign used. Some of them have cyrilic letters, some dont. The ones used in BLTP have it. The ones in CHAT, doesn’t.
Well, plus they have country and language choise availible in russian for payment…

But as said above, ADDING cyrilic letters to ANY font isn’t that hard… Or time consuming.

Bulgarian here. I would love to have Cyrillic available in the chat. I don’t care about character or guild names, I think they should remain Latin only, but Cyrillic is just a must-have for the chat. At this point I’m using English even when communicating with fellow Bulgarians, because the transcription from Cyrillic to Latin characters is the most cringiest and godawful thing ever.
