Guild Wars 2

So like many many others that have been complaining about lag over the last 4 or so days i discovered something.

I was running SE with guildies and my gf who sits at her computer right next to me. I started lagging as i have been since about the weekend. Sometimes it’s me, sometimes my girl friend. It seems random. I couldn’t do anything and buttons weren’t responding. I happened to glance at my gf’s screen and i saw my self moving and realized i could still run around .. . I could even attack in real time though my screen was lagging like crazy by looking at her screen. I could use skills that were off cool down even though i couldn’t tell. All my skills we working fine so this may not show up as lag on the server side since i could technically still play even though i was playing blind on my screen . . .

Looks like lag but it may not show up that way. . . idk I’m not the expert. Usually when people lag they run into walls, just stand there or rubber band. I could still play but was basically visually impaired to everything.

Haha, that’s interesting. I assumed this might be the case because on my Altruistic Healing Guardian, when I see myself getting caught in a 10+ second lag spike while right under a boss, I often try to pop all of my boons, and even though I don’t see them go off, I come out of the spike still alive, which makes me assume that I actually was able to cast the boons during the spike even though I couldn’t see it (if I was unable to cast until the spike was over, I surely would be dead).

Intriguing…and sounds about right =/ This would mean that, for those who are experiencing this lag, either the client isn’t doing anything with the packets as fast as it should, or the server isn’t sending packets back to the client as fast as it should ._.

Or I’m talking out of my bunghole. I know jack diddly about the subject other than I’m lagging and I want to know why >.>

Nope. What you ‘re describing there is server lag. When what your client is showing you is different from what the server is doing, because the server can’t send the data to your client fast enough for some reason. That is server lag.
