Guild Wars 2

A friend and I played GW2 from launch until 0530 Saturday (1 Sep 2012), had a great time. Then at 0930 she tries to login and gets the following error:

3002:1008:1:462, email address not found.

The email address has not been changed, and the account and password were unique and not used previously in other games. That seems to indicate it wasn’t one of the accounts attacked by using a database of old accounts and passwords.

During the week email authentication for my friend never did work, and I wonder if that is what is wrong. I see other people reporting the error, but no response from Arena saying what it is or what causes it.

So far there has been no response to the tickets for days.

Anyone have any information on this?

Same problem here – can’t log in to my account since 25 august.
Have support request about this problem 120826-006007 (11 days), and 3 answers from support.
Last answer:
“Access Restored.
You should now be able to log in using the following information:
Account Name: xxxx
Password: yyyy”

But I still can’t log in – “email address not found”.

Exactly the same problem with my wife. I can’t believe this is going on so long. She wasn’t hacked or anything…just tried to change her email address (as is what arenanet suggested!) and BOOM! She hasn’t been able to play since 8/31.

My friend had the same thing we played together she got to lvl 25 and after a server reset she could not log in anymore.
Got the exact same error code, seems like her account isn’t being recognized in their database, she also had a e mail from arenanet saying someone (hopefully it was you) has changed the e mail on the account, however it was in her junkmail, it was from noreply@guildwars2.com but somehow filtered it into the junk

Same problem happened with my friend. He can’t log in, cause his email for some reason do not exsist in GW2 database, at least that’s what the game tells him.

Yes, unfortunately my guldmate got the same problem.

This should definitely be looked at and solved asap. This is critical issue that prevents people who paid for the game to play at all.

No Auction House – ok, not much of a problem. Not working email – well, we can wait.

But people loosing their accounts is unacceptable.

The game is great. Please, fix this up and let people get what they paid for – atleast get into the game.

Why u no work, ok seriously though its not letting me login. after confirming my email address through the link i can no longer login to GW2.
its saying that the email address is not found. even though i was playing last night and this morning using the same login info and every thing

The above message is posted for my brother he made this ticket using his support account however it wont let him back in now to even check on the status of his ticket he submitted this the 31st of august i understand u are busy but its now telling him his email doesnt even exist so he cant even access this forum to re post this

so im doing it for him.It is as the ticket says his account is hacked and he would like some response im a little shocked there has been no response whatsoever to his ticket as of yet and should hope to see some immediate action to this woeful problem.

Yes, thats the same problem mine friend has. Same error its basically saying there is no account assoicated with that email..

ive got same issue.its driving me crazy. ive never evengot to make my first toon!!its been 5 days today.

Posting this again in hopes of getting some information for my friend. He is watching us all play and getting quite bitter, rightly so as he paid his money and was unable to login even once due to this error.

My friend purchased a retail copy of the game, installed it, created his account and received this error when he attempted his first login. After waiting 48 hours for a response from ANet he exchanged the game at the store. He setup a new account with the new serial code using a different email account and received the same error on his first login attempt. How can this be hacking, he had registered his copy of the game within 5 minutes of the error. Very frustrating. His ticket number (for the second copy of the game) is 120905-00153

Perhaps this is a different issue that hacking, while I do not know exactly why this error is happening I do know that my friend who could not have access to his account due to this particular error have not been online since he lost access, which means that if it is a hacked account whoever hacked it just hacked it and left it, which doesn’t make much sense to me. I am not sure if this is created from some kind of database problem or such.

Perhaps ArenaNet can shed some light on what exactly is this Error and what we expect after getting this error, a hacked account or something else more technical?

I see that this post has been moved to technical support, just a clarification that when you get this error it is saying that your e mail doesn’t not exist in their database. it’s not a Technical issue related to software / hardware on client side, it’s more of a what happened to my account issue, since apparently it doesn’t exist anymore.

i bought the game on 9/1/12 as a hard copy from store.downloaded asap.and have not been able to login at all because of this.i can login to the forums and support also my account.i still have yet to play this game for 1second or create a toon!
