I’m frequently experiencing packet losses in the evening hours. I’ve already contacted my provider, their supports succinct reply was “not our problem, PLs clearly occur on their (your) side”.

Reducing the MTU below the standard 1500 bytes seems to alleviate the problem a little.

Any ideas?

You can show them it begins with Level 3 and/or Telia, and ask them to contact the Tier 3 providers.

You can try a VPN.

I suspect that since Level3 and/or Telia are the final hop before ANet, they hope that ANet (or NCSoft) will lean on them and all. Either way, it’s kinda sorta a game of whispers three steps removed.

If the problem doesn’t occur within your ISPs network, they don’t have to care. The most they could even do is notify the other network of a problem. Likewise, ArenaNet can only do the same. When it comes to these big networks, only the big businesses carry any weight.

The most you could do is use a VPN in an attempt to reroute your connection through a different path, otherwise you can only wait it out.
