Greetings Arena Net:

You need to be honest with Mac Users about the path moving forward. I am tired of the “Mac Beta Client” crashing. I am tired of logging out and back in multiple times to fix issues. I am tired of graphical bugs. I am tired of Trading Post bugs. If you “hear” us and you respect us (as you all have indicated you too are Mac users) then after well over a year now…be honest about whether you will take the client out of beta and fully support Mac Users or not. Otherwise people will leave. If you have the funds to make nice swag and mail it out to websites for review and advertising purposes, then you have additional income to spend on getting the Mac Client right. Otherwise why bother at all? I paid for the game expecting (after the initial Mac announcement) that things would go well. And yet here we are…what do the people in charge of development have to say?

Where’s the “like” button? That red “+1” button doesn’t seem to do anything. Maybe it’s a Mac beta issue…

I’m running 10.9.1. Guild Wars 2 crashes so fast it doesn’t even make it to the splash screen.

You know what? I take it back… ANet made a mistake, IMHO, by deciding to use Cider and mistakes of that nature don’t warrant such strongly-worded commentary.

As far as I can tell all or nearly all of the problems Mac users are having can be traced back to the fact that Cider does not do what Transgaming says it does. If you want to complain to someone, they’re the ones dropping the ball. (I would argue that ANet is dropping a secondary ball by continuing to use Cider, but that’s another thread.)

what’s situation on 10.9.x? I haven’t updated from 10.7.5 for fear of losing gw2 playability, but other games are dropping 10.7.5 support now.

I’ve been playing on 10.9.1 without issue.

Jace, I’m more interested in what your hardware is and how old it is. It may be a hardware issue if you’re complaining about crashing and graphical issues. Except the TP issue. That needs to be fixed.

Also, marketing and client development costs are significantly different. Creating a proper mac port is much more expensive than you think.

I can’t speak for Jace, but my issues with the game client crashing every 5-15 minutes started with the Escape From LA patch. Everything else on my computer runs great, so I seriously doubt it’s a hardware issue.

Do you run anything else that might cause the fans to spin up to the same speed GW2 does? Have you tried the SMC / PRAM reset?
