Game disconnects every minute or two
I get disconnected and i dont use the authenticator as i dont have a “smart phone” capable of using “apps”
Dissing every 10 minutes since the patch.

Possible Solution
Deleting the “Local.dat” file in the “Guild Wars 2” folder located in “My Documents” seems to have worked for me.
Note that you’ll have to redo some of your in-game settings.
Tried deleting…does nothing.
I think there are two different issues going on in this thread. One with authenticators, and other different connection issue.
Mine is 7:11:3:189:101.
Well, after unlinking the authenticator I have managed to stay ingame for 35+ minutes, seems like that was my problem
Disconnecting authenticator from my acc helps, only shame is i don’t feel secure now..
Hey guys if you’re getting error code 7:1000:7006:836:101 specifically then as a temporary workaround, as other players have noticed, I would unlink your mobile authenticator from your account until this gets worked out.
We appreciate your patience with this issue.
Honestly, I’d prefer the DCing to less account security. I’ll manage.

Getting disconnected now every 20 seconds of logging in, not using any mobile app so that’s not it.
What i have noticed and happens 100% right now, if i quickly teleport out of the city or if i am moved to overflow i have no trouble at all. the second i enter a city i am DC within 10 seconds.
Same problem, also using mobile authenticator. Started late last night after the big patch.
I’m going to just deal with the d/c – I don’t want to go back to email auth. Hopefully it’s fixed soon!
Same here. I think I’m suffering from both issues… Sometimes error 7:1000:7006:836:101 (which I suppose is from the authenticator) and sometimes other dc errors. I hope you fix this soon, as I’m not going to switch off the mobile authenticator.

I removed authenticator and the disconnects are gone, homever is it fixed yet?
I really would like to use authenticator, but the disconnects issue is really annoying.
I have the same problem and I DO NOT use the mobile authenticator. I have also had all appropriate ports forwarded almost since launch with no problems whatsoever until the recent patch.
Since the patch last night, I have seen many reports of lag in the map chat and have personally been dropped several times. Just now, I was trying to do the Shelter’s Gate event and had the game “lag out” (The entire world and my skills stop functioning apart from my own movement for several seconds) 7 – 10 time over the course of the 5 minute event before it finally just dropped me at the end.
I do not have the mobile authenticator thing as well. The problem I have is the log-in server is never up, and every time I zone, the game kicks me out and disconnects. The game was flawless before, and it only started doing this after the patch on October 23rd.
Just to clarify, all ports are forwarded and no firewall is blocking GW2. I repeat, this only started to happen on the 23rd and 24th. Today is pretty bad too.

After looking at everyone in the Account Support forum who’s had their account hacked, after my husband getting login attempts from Japan, you want me to remove the only thing keeping my account secure because you can’t keep me from frequently disconnecting?

Just don’t bother. Same thing after every update. Just hope it resolves itself somehow after a week as it did before. I wrote to support again attaching gameadvisor, speccy and pingplotter report. They said to contact my ISP because packet loss is happening when i run GW. I gave up dealing with them cause i’m tired of saying this happens only with gw, only after updates and that it shuts off my entire net connection.
I am not contacting ISP to tell them that single application is shutting down my net and everything else is working fine. They will just tell me to contact anet support.

I’ve been experiencing the same error as the op after what seems like every other patch. The initial Halloween patch let me play just fine, but the patch a day later has made it so I’m lucky if i can play for five minutes, most of which are filled with extreme lag. Also I don’t have an authenticator as of yet, so I know that quick fix will not help.

My contact with support was exactly the same. I ve done every possible thing they ask me with game advisors, diag.logs on son on. I had no problem with game month ago, it was smooth and they told me its my ISP problem not theirs. Its unbelievable lie. Nothing (besides newwest drivers) changed at my side (software, hardware, ISP) from half of the year.
What even more they deleted my post in this topic from yesterday. Only thing i wrote there was that problem with dc evrey couple of seconds and error 7 IS NOT CONNECTED WITH AUTHENTICATOR ONLY, casue several ppl including me simply dont have it.
I still cant play proper pvp game, when my or my friends dc is crucial and we cant win a game with 3 ppl.
Other thing. I got I52500k,8 Gram, gtx560TI.Do i really have to play on low details to not get crash so often ??

As for crashes i kinda fixed that. (If it’s the same problem as i had). I tried various graphic setting inside game and nothing worked. I was getting driver fail/recover message and then game just minimized and i had to kill process. I have Radeon 7770 and problem was that (factory settings) graphic clock was too high and since gw2 will use 100% graphic load over time card would overheat and driver would fail. So i used MSI Afterburner to downlock and increase power supply and fan response. Haven’t had problems since then.
But this connection issue is mind numbing. I haven’t had an online game that can shut off my entire net connection till now.
I have the same problem as you NvN. But I am watching the fan speed and temp on my card and it has never gotten close to overheating. I am saying based upon Nvidia’s max temp being about 95C, and my card has never gotten to 65C and fan speed never above 55%. My gpu however has maxxed out reccomended temps many times, sometimes I crash from that sometimes I don’t. I do get very random crashes though, and random types…from bsod, to game freezing, to windows shutting it down, to kicking me out and asking for a report from anet. And at random places and time intervals of playing. Completely random with everything involved….that I can see. I am not a programmer, but with all the info they have from me I am sure they can see some consistency, I just can’t. Regardless, it still isn’t fixed. I have tried every solution I have seen on the forums to no avail. Other than the one you just stated. Just thought I would throw that out.
As before … my net issues resolved itself somehow. I can play again. But why in the world do i have to wait 3-5 days after update to get net working again.
At this point, I’m starting to think I’m not go to be able to touch anymore of the Halloween event.
Same issue as of today, Sunday, all others day of the event it was fine. Hint to Anet, i only went to the event maze yesterday, the few hours i played were to do the events, all possible atm are completed. Today i tried Lions Arch, WvWvW, Cursed Shore to farm a bit, and everywhere im having these lag spikes that eventually result in a disconnect with error 7.
My conclusion is that going to the halloween events somehow bugged my game. Im now reinstalling the game and ill post here if problem is gone or not. If it is, and with no patch, take ur own conclusions.
Clean install and no spikes or disconnects. Stay away from the halloween events
