So My issue was fixed!

That states a link to a patch that indeed fixes the blank gemstore as well as the “downloading patch v1.11” when starting the game.

Too bad this wasn’t posted to this topic/thread because..well, it fixes the issue. I confirmed it myself. I had the exact same problems listed here and this patch seems to have fixed it.

Well noted Hamgina.6720. Followed your notes and installed fix. Gem store working. will still need to check out camera issue, but confident it is fixed also.

Thank you Hamgina.6720 – I was having all the same issues (blank gem screen and camera rotation craziness) and that link and patch fixed it.

Hi Jtor,

have you tried the TgUpdate instructions yet? Also, please delete your Guild Wars 2 folder from /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support.

My Gem store keeps giving me 3rd party cookie errors. All browsers, have been set for that and still doesn’t work.

Still not working. I refuse to do some player generated fix as I paid for and continue to pay for, in gem purchases, a game that is broken in parts.

I have 2 infractions and I care not if I get a million. Anet is silent or wants US to fix this issue. Anet won’t tolerate legitimate criticism of its poor performance so I will take to the internet where they have ZERO power to delete my comments or suppress legitimate complaints like some petty dictator. Fix this issue Anet or just dump the mac client, but to persist with the silence is tantamount to telling us that Mac players don’t matter.

I am having it double bad, as My PC gets 3rd party cookie errors, and / or session expired and / or error.param (whatever that is.

So I thought I would be smart, DL GW2 on my Mac and give Anet my $$ there, instead, I got a blank store screen.

As a note, my PC gem store problems started with the Wintersday Patch. It worked perfectly prior to that. Whatever you did that patch, undo it, as you are losing income. I’d consider this an Emergency on your part. I must say your customer service tried over the last few weeks to remedy my problem, having me do all sorts to things to see if the errors were on my side (winsocket / clear game cache, set all browsers, hijack this reports, game advisers reports etc, but ultimately they gave up and directed me to post here. I firmly believe the problem is server side, not client side. Looking forward to a fix soon ( and I hope the upgrade salvager will still be available for purchase when this issue is fixed, and my free items from gem purchases).

@Gankishkhan: You are correct that the fix for the tgUpdate errors was discovered by a user (me) but ANet has reportedly been working on this same issue at the same time (it just so happened that I posted my fix before they crafted their official response/resolution). The tgUpdate fix has also resolved the gem store issues for many.

Gemme card problem.

Restart guildwars 2 but it does not work. And I do not see too what else to try.
I contacted support but they have no solutions yet.
Only hope a fix soon

TgUpdate 1.11 problem.
My only solution is to wait for the moment, I did not try the above solution

Having an issue as well. Did the update to 1.0.009524 and no luck.

i agree with this i don’t know how difficult it would be to let us buy Gems through the website but for me it would be actually better than standing and wait for a black window that never loads… I’m sorry but Anet plz fix this… i don’t what to ask a friend with a PC every time i what to give you some money…

@ FranzM and Borame: Re-downloading the GW2 client and applying the patch manually again has fixed this problem for many users. Could you try re-downloading your client by following the instructions at (see the bottom portion of the instructions so you don’t have to re-download the 20GB GW2.dat file; starts with words: “Here is an additional Work Around if the update does not work:”)

Could not purchase gems on my new Macbook running 10.9.1. The window would come up blank no matter what I did. Decided to try it on my older Mac running 10.8.5 and it worked perfectly. Went back to the 10.9.1 machine right afterwards to see if the issue may have been solved some other way and the window was still blank on that machine.

Must be 10.9.1 then?

So I have a Mac. all the new updates and such and I STILL cant purchase Gems. I have a Gem Card code that I literally CAN’T redeem but when I click the Item code link, that link works fine.

what have you tried so far to get this issue fixed? Have you tried the steps detailed in the update at:

I recommend that you follow the instructions at the bottom of that post and re-install the GW2 client preserving the .dat file. These steps have fixed the Gem Store and other issues for many.

Also, if you have not done so yet, please delete the “Guild Wars 2” folder from /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support.

There are at least 2 Library folders. One is on the root of Mac HD, called Library (we are not interested in this one), the other hidden in your account’s folder, under Users/yourusername. It is usually referred to as ~/Library. It is where many of your personal mac account settings are saved, including GW2 client files.

If the Library folder is hidden, open Finder, then from the menu select Go and while holding Option key you should see the Library folder. Click on it, then find “Application Support” and finally Guild Wars 2. Delete the Guild Wars 2 folder from here.

I have been having this problem as well. The page is completely blank and the redeem button does not work for the redeem codes.

Mac Info is
Macbook Pro 15in mid 2012
Mac Maverick OSX

I tried deleting the app support for gw2 and opening the game back up. That didn’t work. Every time I open the game now it says it is updating or downloading tg update… Is that suppose to happen. it takes a few seconds then goes to the game. I have been away for about two months so I figure I have missed a lot.. I hope this problem can get fixed though.

EDIT: The TG update fixed the problem.

I have found a solution based on Felicja’s solution.
Mac users need to allow apps downloaded from “Anywhere”.
To do so:
apple > system preferences > security and privacy > click on anywhere at the bottom.
Afterwards, go re install the update:
http://cider.ncplatform.net/Live/GWII-Update-009524.tgz
Then go on game and test it out. Worked for me. And also, please leave the setting at security pref to “Anywhere”, as that kind of screwed me over when put back on mac and identified devs… hope it works.

For what it’s worth, this worked for me. I had zero luck for about 2-3 days (as a new user) then tried this and it appeared to work. The next 2-3 times, I had to log out, clear temps, log back in. After the last update, nothing works. I’ve spent more time trying to buy larger bags and updated gear than actually playing. I guess here’s to hoping the Mac player base is large enough/vocal enough to get some results.
