Ever since the new patch came out, I’ve been getting disconnected from the server ever 30 minutes or so. I asked around and it seems like its only happening to me. =/

happened to me too, but its more like a game crash.

same here I’ll update this with an error code that it gives me.

error code given: 7:1000:7006:836:101

removing authenticator fixed it for me and a few others having the issue.

Blaargh, same here, and it’s getting especially frustrating since I’m trying to run Arah explorable.

yeah I keep getting disconnected too

edit: this keeps happening about every 5 – 15min
Also it seems the forums go down about the same time, or at least I cant connect to them when I get disconnected from the game.

Happening to me, too. Exactly every half hour since update. I added an authenticator at about the same time, too. I don’t want to have to remove that, since I’ve had many login attempts from China, according to my email verification. Yes, password is changed and all that, but I’m kinda worried.

I’m the same here, I’l try removing the Authenticator to see if that helps.

I crashed regularly every 30 mins or so but since removing the authenticator, I have not crashed since then. I added the authenticator just today, so it was a fair assumption and hence removing it for now has worked I’ve been logged into the game now for the last 2 hours (minus need for restart due to patch)

I am having same issue with same error code ever since patch, cant stay connected for long periods, get disconnected saying lost connection with server with error code 7:1000:7006:836:101 … I am using the google authentication and had no issue prior to halloweeen patch.

I did not have this issue prior to the patch, however coincidentally I also have added the google auth to my account today so I will remove it and see if that make any difference.

This has been happening to me as well since 10/22 patch, both on Windows 7 and on Arch Linux via Wine 1.5.15 . The error code I’m seeing in Wine is 42:0:9001:3968:101 . I do have an authenticator so I’ll be disabling that and see if it helps.

problem with removing authenticator is that you remove a level of security and you dont get the option to turn email auth back on cause authenticator is a “better” option

I too have Authenticator going, seems like that’s the problem looking at this forum.

Meanwhile, I guess we can disable it or wait for Anet to throw a quick patch.

This really should be a priority fix.

I shouldn’t have to remove the authenticator to get rid of these disconnects.

I removed the authenticator and I have not experienced a d/c so far. This is obviously a bad solution, I will put it back on and see if it starts to d/c again.

I disabled my authenticator but am still getting the same disconnect in Wine, fwiw.

Cant do monthly achievement cause I cant stay connected long enough to do much in WvWvW … Any word from a mod/dev?

Ugh that sucks, I thought the authenticator was good too. Will have to wait until they fix it before turning it back on.

I am also affected by this, I enabled the authenticator last night.

I am very unimpressed by this – not allowing email authentication to be renabled or preferably, combined since security it a tiered system and email authentication is a good first tier level of security; its just all so shoddy.

I’ve been using the authenticator for a while, though after the patch I’ve been getting the same disconnects. Error code is 7:1000:7006:836:101, as was brought up in the thread earlier. =[

Getting me too. Imagine that poor warriors surprise as he was about to beat me in WvW when I disappeared though. Well, it would have been a close fight…

I have to keep repairing everytime the game crashed. Really WTF

I enabled authenticator this morning and have had this same disconnect issue (same error as everyone above). I’ll try disabling it and seeing if it works.

PS – the QR code didn’t scan correctly by the Google Authenticator app in my iPhone either, I had to enter everything manually in the app.

Getting the same error, is this why the gem store took 700 gems without me receiving the mail with my mad king costume?

Either way, today has been very disappointing with these issues i’m having.

I have the same problem. I want to keep the authenticator, it’s a great idea! But not if I d/c every 20 mins or so.

Likewise, keep getting disconnected haven’t lasted long enough to leave Lions arch and participate in the Halloween event much :/

Only started after this patch, have authenticator which I’ll try remove see if it helps :/

Every thirty minutes, like clockwork. Makes WvW a pain.

Yep same here! Over and over all day long.

Same problem here. I’ve been missing out on dynamic events. I don’t even want to go into WvW. This has been very annoying.

Same error every 10-30 min. Attached an authenticator just before the patch. Never had any recurring crash/disconnect issues before.

Same. This is incredibly annoying. I’m going through the story and have to restart instances since it doesn’t save your progression until you beat it.

Same. I logged in and as soon as I clicked my character to load in I got dropped.

multple threads on this issue, was one in bugs but it got moved to tech support, when it is clearly a bug with the new patch. They are also telling people to turn off authenticator, but there is no option to turn email authentication back on leaving your account with very little security.

Please don’t forget that this is happening to people who have not set up authenticator as well.
