Guild Wars 2 completely freezes my computer
I uploaded my system specs, if this could help solve the problem.

Are you waiting for long enough, and does ctrl+alt+delete work for you? :p

I have waited a few minutes when my PC froze and it crashed with a BSOD (see screenshot )
Whoa, thats a big problem!
Hows the temperature on the computer, is it overheating?
- Tupac Amaru Shakur (1971-1996)
I don’t know where could I check it. I don’t think it has something to do with temperature because this problem occurs at game start. If I successfully enter Guild Wars 2, as long as I play, everything works fine. Otherwise it would have crashed during gameplay. It’s like an old car engine. You turn the key, the electric motor tries to turn on the Otto engine but with no success. Once the Otto engine starts, everything works fine. Today I have tried starting Guild Wars 2 for 4 times, but crashed my PC everytime.
Hmm… Ive been getting the bSOD errors when overheating… Theres a program you could check the temperature with like Real Temp, try that and let us know the numbers… :p

Your graphics card is crashing. I like to use Hardware Monitor to check temperatures (and other things):
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
Please post back with your temperature readings.
Edited to add:
I just noticed this (your GPU driver is VERY old):
Driver Date/Size: 12/7/2007 07:51:00, 5773568 bytes
Try updating your GPU driver as well as checking temperatures. You can get the new driver here:

I have tried checking temperatures with current driver. The GPU temperature is at about 45-46 ` C. When I click Play, the PC freezes completely, so I can’t monitor further. Eventually, I think I would try updating, altough last time I tried I had to rollback drivers, because of imcompatibility issues. Sometimes, even if the graphic card appears supported by a driver, it might not work so well.
Hi mahri,
A look at the microsoft website for information regarding the stop error / blue screen had the following information:
This issue occurs if the graphics adapter is caught in an infinite loop while it waits for the video hardware to become idle. This can indicate that there is a problem with the video hardware, or that the graphics adapter cannot program the hardware correctly.
The Stop error message may also occur in video adapter drivers that do not represent a physical device. For example, this Stop error message may occur in the virtual video adapter driver that is used by Symantec PCAnywhere. If PCAnywhere is installed on a computer where this error message occurs, visit the Symantec Web site to determine whether there are any available fixes for your version of PCAnywhere.

From reading this I would suggest checking the following areas.
- Firstly check to see if you have Symantec PCAnywhere software installed. If this software is installed on your computer then visit symantec’s support site to troubleshoot this issue further.
- Check that your video card drivers are up to date. youcan get the recommended driver directly from nvidia’s website for your geforce 8600GT graphics card.
- Make sure windows is up to date by running the windows updater to ensure all relevant patches and updates are applied.
- The hardware is quite old so it would be a good idea to do some maintenance cleaning. If you are confident enough you could remove the graphics card and gently clean it free from any dust or debris. There are special tools available to clean electrical components without causing static build up on the hardware (which could potentially harm the hardware).
Here is a link to an Anti-static cleaning brush
If after attempting the following steps did not resolve your problem then it may be a sign that the graphics hardware is reaching the end of its life cycle. At this stage if you have a spare graphics card (even and older one) or can borrow one from another friend or computer you could test guild wars 2 with and if there is no crash then the test will have pointed to hardware failure of the graphics card.
Hope this helps

Well the fact you have 2048MB of ram might have something to do with this now.
You are swapping 12% of your ram to your HDD. And when your system started to BSOD it probably started to damage some of your system files during the crashes due to the swapping.
The first thing you need to do is grab the latest Nvidia drivers for Windows XP. Uninstall the current Nvidia drivers using DDU (google for it) from safe mode. After your Nivida drivers are installed, if you still BSOD/Hard lock then you need to run SFC /Scannow from Command prompt. You might need to reinstall the Nvidia drivers again after SFC completes (this is a system file checker that will restore damaged system files. It can damage AMD/Nvidia GPU Drivers in the process since they are not part of the native windows install)
If that does not fix it, then you are looking at a reinstall of windows.

After I updated drivers, things seem to work fine. Thanks for helping me figure it out.
Hi. I have a new problem. Today, when I start Guild Wars 2, the screen goes almost completely black, after that only the start bar is seen. My PC is not freezed . Oppening Task Manager, the CPU seems to be used at 50% . I have tried repairing the client but didn’t help. I ran Game Advisor and updated the outputed file in attachments.

One problem seems to be that you are using a 32bit Windows OS, and have little RAM available.
This can cause many errors with GW2. You might be best served by upgrading to a 64bit system, and installing more RAM, if you can.
Good luck.

I think it’s about time you got a new PC.
Try disabling all unneeded start-up programs, then reboot. More info here:
