Since about a week im experiencing quite a bit of lag troughout the game. It started in WvW, the lag is discribed as “jittery” walking from the zerg (teleporting sort to speak), lagspikes and 1-2 seconds of skillag soon as some activity happens. The lag is also in pve now when i run fractals or other dungeons. I created a few forum posts allready but havent received a response yet from someone qualified.

Note: im talking about internet lag, not fps lag, i have a consistent 30 fps everywhere i go. Its not any hardware on my side.

Some other info:
Playing on a intel core 2 quad CPU Q8300 with 8gigs of RAM
GPU is a GTS250
OS is windows 7 ultimate

My ISP is UPS/CHELLO from the Netherlands. I live there aswell so i play on EU servers. Far shiverpeaks to be more precise.

Because i experience internet lag i gave UPS a call and asked them if there is anything wrong with my internet. They say its perfectly fine and told me to test other software with internet connection. I did and any other software has no lag issues.

I also did a tracert and after hop 12 it times out. I did it while standing in an enemy`s borderlands because i experience lag there right now with my guild group and i cannot play very effectively atm.

Im not really an internet expert… what does this mean? I played since launch without this issue and obviously i`d like to have it fixed. If you need more info from me, im all ears! Help a poor girl out will ya… Thnx in advance

It looks like your packets (data) are never quite reaching ArenaNet, they obviously get close because the IP address before it starts timing out has NCSoft written all over it. This is likely a problem with ArenaNet’s internal infrastructure dropping packets. I’m not sure there is much you can do besides report the problem in a support ticket.

No dev or admin here wants to help me?

I have completely the same issue.
It’s annoying as hell and game is unplayable…
It started today after the latest patch up.

Why is it not being fixed? I can’t imagine they`d like to be known as “the game company that didnt care for their customers base” all the media and gamemagazines would talk about it and make their income go away.

I am very frustrated at the moment as I am 9 (!!) badges away from Gift of Battle and I can’t even queue up without getting dced first.
I last few minuted in WvW and get kicked out at the first encounter.
It’s truly maddening and GW2 related most likely, as I jst tested on WoW and that performs in its usual fine trail.

Same issue here. It has been going on for a while now. Seriously annoying, especially the skill lag and random freezes of 3-4 seconds. I’ve heard multiple complaints around me, same issues. I give it another week and then give up on this game, been way to long already. And no, its not a problem which lies at my side. Can play any game perfectly fine without any lag what so ever. Checked pingtest.net and 0% packetloss on multiple servers. Unfortunately ANET’s server are in one word: CRAP.

The lag is seriously quite selective, i lagged all over the place in my own borderlands, i even crashed once and got kicked to character select screen a few times. (No queue thankfully)

A few hours later we got steamrolled by enormous blobs and gave it a try on an enemies borderland. Lagless. I once again followed a zerg that actually ran and not teleported all over the place, i mean what the hell??? I transported back to home borderland and immediate lagspike and jittery walking. Shifted back to enemy BL and lag gone. I am perplexed.

What do i tell my commander now? Dont go into our own borderlands because i lag the hell out of there? Oh lord.. Did anyone found a cause and solution for this nonsense yet? I guess no dev talks to me, i even PMed Ashley and didnt receive a msg yet.

I’m also lagging in WvW, quite similar to what you are experiencing. It can be very frustrating. Hopefully the devs will fix this problem soon.

Same issue here also made a topic about this recent asking if any other UPC players had the same, and it seems a lot more do, sadly it’s only with gw2 indeed, it makes playing in wvwvw pretty impossible as every fight is basically a fight with frameloss that for me went up to as high kitten -8 seconds, this really drains out the fun for me to play aswell.

Didn’t gw2 have the same routing issues with some French and German providers before, maybe they can fix this the same way for us.

I play from Middle East

This is my ping test to Aurora Glade 5 minutes ago.

Keeps on being the same.

Kepp on getting lag spikes, dcs, and generally I am <-> this close to Legendary and <> this close to going back to WoW at the moment.
Which, for some reason, plays ok. It’s a shame, if I knew how to fix this or that it comes from my PC, I’d be glad to work on it…

Help?

Edit: Second screenshot attached. This happened after I tried to pick a mail from BLTC, while internet working perfectly fine otherwise. It didn’t happen for the very first time, I just didn’t think to check my connection before (because yes, occasionally my wifi does fall off, hence if I get this once a week, I don’t really wonder.) After that, the game crashed.
Third screenshot is after trying to get back into the game after last crash, while using these forums without problem…
I insist on the problem starting after the last tiny patch up, for whatever it was (after the change to system of WvW match ups).
