i can confirm this my ping is between 500-700 when at spawn. if i hit a zergfight or anything its around 1.5- 3.5 k ping = unplayable. im on YB and its terrible!

Same on FA BL when it is empty. Also shoot over 2k when there is a 20v20 or more fight.

Do remember that the Ping shown in the Options window includes processing time on the Servers.

yeah but usually its never this bad. atm its 2 am here noone else using the net and usually i can play without any issues around this time. today its like this for hours.

I’m even getting this in PvE zones and LS instances (by myself) right now. Ping spikes as high as 2,000ms and averages of 600-1,000ms at times. Thought it was just a side effect of living in Australia but even outside the lagathon that is our prime time it’s still like this.

I just did a tracert to the Lornars Pass map I am on… 206.127.159.151 and all goes well until it hits ncsoft.com at 206.127.157.85 / 206.127.157.102 / 206.127.159.151 and from there on it tells a sorry tale.. big ping times over 1000ms then it drops back to around 400ms then up again sometimes as high as 2000ms for me.
I have given ANET the benefit of the doubt over the last few years but right now this game has so many issues both ingame and performance around it.. I am really fearing for how HoT is gunna perform on the back of it all. Me personally I wont be spending out on an expansion until I see signs of some real measurable improvements and fixes.

I’ve been having pretty bad lag today as well, which is making dungeons/PvP/WvW largely unplayable. Ping sits at around 400, but it’s spiked up to 2000ish.

I can also confirm major lag as of 11:58am, 15/05/2015 (AET), home server is Eredon Terrace. Been experiencing this lag since I first logged on this morning at 9am.
I am the only one connected on my network, I turned off any programs that may be connecting to the internet save for Guild Wars 2, of course. My ping is usually around 250-300ms (Australian).
Hope there’s a fix soon.

Looks like I am not the only one, my location is at Malaysia. Latency spikes when goes into combat, it happens as well when idle in town. Please give this a fix as soon as possible.

My ping has been so high, it cant even register the ping, it gives it 0. Every time i pressed a character skill, it would take 1-2 seconds to activate the skill or for it to start.This needs to have a fix, you cant play PvP(and/or WvW) with this at hand.

I’ve been having bad lag all day. My ping has been around 600 when I normally don’t have any problems at all. Get your kitten together Anet.

i have 30mb d/u speeds. other games giving me 100~300ping from malaysia. gw2 1k+ ping. yesterday morning gw2 was fine 200~300 ping

tonight WvW is terrible lag , over 3000 ping !! ( my speed is 100mb)
how can i play with this lag? what’s wrong with your server again??
can you fix up ASAP??? i can’t play WvW tonight, so sad, unhappy

My ping has returned back to normal for the past 5 minutes. Log in and see if it’s fixed for you!

Ah that sucks. I played for half an hour with my normal ping. I’m not at my PC right now so I don’t know if it is still working. Hopefully this means they are slowly fixing it, however.

Midwest. Pockets of 2000 ms lag in a relatively unmanned WvW map usually leading to disconnect. I miss out on entire events happening right in front of me.

This issue has rendered the game almost unplayable for a week now. Is there really some problem with the server?
Are we just going to be ignored anyway?

Following my post above, the issue was fixed after few hours. The same thing happen again this morning 6AM GMT +8.

I’ve got a support ticket open for this issue myself… been about a week, week and a half of this freakish long ping, though when I run speedtest, or battleping.com my ping is 11… in game it shows 1200 and I can’t play because of it.

Bump for fix. Do I need give up on GW2?

So it wasn’t just me lagging last night then! Man I was so mad and even disable my WiFi and plugged my computer with the eternet cable because I thought someone was uploading pictures or a video at home.

Same problem here (Brazil), normal connection, but in game …
bosses, WvW unplayable… delays, spikes, dcs

In Australia, 10:12am Server time. In Orr trying to do daily events and ping is over 1100 with spikes up to about 3000.

Can’t interact with nodes, skills are all just flashing. This seems to be a frequent issue with this game.

I raised a ticket and still there is no reply from GM. It has been 4 days. Its Anet servers or something. I play other MMOs and there is no lag problems ie always within 220-280 ping, which I accept as normal for my country.

This continuous lag spike has been around for 3 weeks now.

Give it another day or two for a reply, it seems their customer service doesn’t have a weekend crew so no one even saw your mail over the weekend. My lag has eased up some for now but this weekend it was horrible like yours. It might be due to the earthquakes they have been having all along west coast US this weekend, or their servers/routing may be crapping out again, who knows?

got hit by lots of delay after the beta today…

Ticket got replied this morning (+8 GMT) and was asked to check firewall (connection not getting thru to server?). Will head back to double check tonight after work. >.> in the meantime, I’ve directed him here to look at the screenshots taken so hopefully he’ll look into it.
