same spec as Phaze Delta One….
only difference is i’m using 2 x GTX 680 SLI and 32GB 1600Mhz RAM

my i7 3930K is at STOCK speed, OCing to 4.5Ghz didn’t help to increase FPS…

on heavy WvW battles i get 19 FPS which is just LOL….

I haven’t noticed people particularly having issues with AMD GPUs. It’s mostly the nVidia ones that seem hard-hit.

I’ve also noticed that people with i7s seem to be having issues, but it might simply be that the posters with i7s also have nVidia cards.

Funny thing is my rig is in between minimum and recommended specs. i run this game with full eye candy at 1920×1080 50hz. and stable at 50fps with v sync on :P
I got a:
Asrock 4core twins 1600 p-35D Mobo,
E7300 at stock 2,66ghz
4gigs of 1333mhz ddr2(underclocked to 1033 to match the processor better)
GTX 285 Triple X edition by XfX
Running 2 WC Caviar blue hard drives.
DvD drive is some crappy old LG drive back from 2005.

Hmmm Truth hurts does it not?

What I don’t get is why this suddenly started happening after flawless fps since I started playing. It was so sudden. I had literally shut the game down, and turned my pc off that night and it was 100% fine. I couldn’t sleep and got back on in the morning 4-5 hours later, and this started the second I logged in. I haven’t been able to do anything to even alter the fps at all. Literally nothing changed on my computer. I did a system restore just in case, but it didn’t help.
I can’t think of anything besides it was the latest patch. I didn’t get to see if it downloaded anything the morning I started having issues, but I normally see small patches every day. Wish I could roll back the patch and see if it changes anything.
I want it to be the pc, because at least I could work on fixing that… I’m out of options at this point.

No, couple players I know are using Intel i7’s are getting crap fps too, I’m finding it funny that AMD gets smashed on in these forums.

I have a crappy 3 year old pc and it runs with everything on max at 50+ fps.

I7 CPU 930 Quad Core 2.8ghz
4GB of G-Skill Ram at 1033mHz
ATI Radeon HD 5850 (1GB)

I have had basically no issues at all except with the bandit cave in the starting area outside Divinity Reach where it dropped to low 20’s.

For those of you having some graphic issues that might not necessarily be limited to guild wars 2 try either tweaking your paging file or check the read speeds on your HDD’s with the inbuilt monitor. A lot of green HDD’s normal 2GB + have inbuilt things that will make them run at lower speeds unless it’s got a paging file located on it.

Unless you know what your doing though I don’t advise playing with these settings.

Same as Manicpanda,

Nowhere in the game does my FPS get low, except for in Queensdale Bandithaunt cavern, same place as Manic. The lag starts once i go in the front entrance, through the first tunnel and into the first open cave area. I can go all the way through to where the vista is and of course my FPS goes up slightly when i face the wall. The thing is i’ve been playing since 2 days before launch and didnt have the FPS issues in Bandithaunt before. I only started noticing it maybe a week ago.

Couple of things I have noticed.. I wonder some if the FPS monitor is completely accurate. I see it read 25 sometimes on ultra, but have ZERO lag or slow drawing. So, might not be super accurate

As far as your question on AMD, it appears that AMD rigs DO have a problem with GW2. Here is an article on that in fact

I ran the game smoothly everywhere. Didn’t install anything, look at porn, or anything that would screw with my system, just played GW2 all day. Since the patch, it’s unplayable at 12 fps.

I’m having the same issue as hippl

Clean install Windows 8 Pro 64
AMD Phenom II x6 1090t OC 3.6ghz
8Gb DDR3 1333 RAM
Radeon HD 6950 2Gb
Sandisk Extreme SSD

Worked amazingly on Sunday night when I first installed Windows 8, but I tried to log in yesterday, and after the patch I was stuck at about 10fps. I think I’ve gained about 10 fps total since then but it’s really unplayable.

Did a complete re-install, and also ran with -repair as well. No matter what options I pick, highest or lowest, no change in FPS. Getting anywhere from

Though I have AMD hardware, this is NOT an AMD specific issue. Clearly people with different setups are having the same issues

Forgot to add: As soon as I turn my camera, at all, in any direction, my fps drops to like… 1. Ridiculous.

The AMD CPU’s espicaly the Bulldozer FX moddles are pretty slow in this game, best thing to do if you have one of the Bulldozer CPU’s is over clock it and you should see a massive boost in your FPS

But there graphics card are running it really well got 2 rigs one with a i7 860 and a AMD 5770 on XP 4gig ram 1900×1200 with the 12.8 driver and the other with a i7 3770k and a AMD 7970 8gig ram 2560×1600 on W7 with the 12.7 beta driver both running the gam flawlessly with no fps probblems.

25 FPS is the lowest speed at which the human eye can be fooled into not realizing that it’s simply a series of stills being played really quickly to create the illusion of movement. It’s not a flawless statement there are some cases where you can notice but it’s a minimum standard.

Here is my system and the settings I use to play on. On average I get 45+ fps in WvW, open world, cities and dungeons I get 50+ fps.
Not sure why I see people here saying they are having fps issues. Some of these systems are similar to mine.

Been reading up on this quite a bit, since I experienced it today. Which is a little frustrating, considering the hardware I’m running.

OS: Win 7 64bit SP1
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Six-Core
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR 8GB (4 × 2GB) DDR3 1600
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5
GPU: GTX 690 4GB (306.23 driver)
SSD: Crucial M4 512GB
PSU: Thermaltake W0131RU 850W
Temps have been normal. Watching my cores while the game is running has been interesting though. Seems the load is not distributed across all of the cores evenly. One will always show a load of 85%-95% while the rest fluctuate between 20%-30%. I’m technical but not an expert when it comes down to game design/utilization/cpu instructions etc, but I would like to think that this game should be running like butter on my configuration. Or am I crazy?

I notice most of the lag during camera panning or when 15+ players are within the draw distance. (FPS can drop down to 5-10 in these instances)

AMD cpus and nvidia graphic cars don’t work well for this game.

also crossfire and SLI don’t work well either.

They need to do more optimizations.
