Hi, please help me, i dont know what is wrong with my PC. I have 1 year old computer.
Spec.:
QuadCore AMD Phenom II X4 840, 3215 MHz
4096 MB (DDR3 SDRAM)
AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series (1024 MB)
HDD: 1000 GB
stable connection 1gb/s

i think i have good pc, but when i set the lowest details what is possible to set i have 30-40 fps in lions arch and about 20 fps while i am in WvWvW in 20vs20 fight.

is it normal? should i reinstal my pc? help me please

Guild wars 2 favors intel processors for their superior single threaded performance. To get any similar performance, you’d have to have a monstrously overclocked AMD processor I’m afraid. I got a 4.2 GHz AMD 8 core and it just chugs along as best as it can but intel i5 processors do a lot better. If you’re able to, I’d see about some overclocking on that processor. If not, I’m not sure what you could do.

First I don’t consider that a true Phenom II due to it’s lack of a L3 cache, it’s the same as an Athlon II X4 650 but using an Phenom II die with a disabled/bad L3 cache. But I digress.

This game becomes CPU dependent when around a lot of players and/or in high polygon environments like cities. Doesn’t make a difference how fast your video card is or your graphic settings. I bet you get great framerate out in the wilderness at high settings. But in cities, events and WvW, the game’s performance breaks down.

Since you use an AMD CPU, they aren’t ahead in the performance anymore and price their CPUs as such. It has around half the performance of a top end Intel CPU and owners of those are overclocking them to get good performance out of WvW.

So no, your PC is fine, it’s just the game that has issues.

Basically this. Garbage optimized GW2 engine
