Honestly Gaile i don’t think the problem is in the event, the chest, the distribution or the loot. The problem is in the precursors themselves, we have drop that cost 100 time more than any other drop, so when people have a good chance to get one as an event reward, well it really isn’t very fair, but i guess you guys understand this. I personally didn’t want to participate in the event that night, i just wasn’t in the mood for a slide show and a lag fest even if i participate in all other events had great moments, if i knew precursor was raining i would have come.

You should make a general drop raise on them, but m’ not sure you’ll be able to break it ever, mmo economy are super inflationary, there is nothing you can do about it, but change the whole process of creating those weapons. Maybe guys break the precursors in crafting parts, or something.

I think you guys have gone above and beyond to try and patch things up with how the lost shore went down. Realistically it’s very clear that due to the design of the event, there will be no fair way to balance who got what, when where and why. The fact that you’ve been diligent about attempting to balance things out reasonably means a lot.

But I have to say when I see anyone saying something to the tune of “don’t worry what other people got, it doesn’t affect you,” I know that is just blatantly false. One person getting X+1 chests means exactly that the supply and demand of the legendary economy (not just precursors but everything associated with legendaries) is changed, and that matters to everyone… even people not playing for a legendary.

The urgency for the chest is largely centered around people wanting to win the GW2 lottery.

With respect to future one time events: I sincerely hope the dev team decouples economy fixes / alterations from events that exclude players.

And yeah, I was hoping to get a chest from my alt who was running the event when the servers closed :-(

Just logged in and I recieved my Karka chest now, thanks for solving this problem.

What I recommend is putting in only visual awards or ‘fun’ things at the next event!

Still nothing Going to wait a couple more hours then ticket support. But so far its not looking good for me.

Playing away just now (about 8:00 zulu) and got my chest in the mail. I’d like to thank the Academy, God, King Richard and St. George.

I’m really happy to hear from you that you’re running new script to give chest to everyone who deserve it. I was there from beginning to the end then I got disconnected after ancient karka was dead already.

So far I didnt recive chest to my mailbox. I deleted all mails and im hoping to recive mail with deserved reward.

I sent support ticket with screenshots.. If I will recive reward today I will remove it.

And about people who said “Give chest to every player” I 100% agree with you! This is not correct solution for this problem… People like me was there all event.. We leave other things behind just to join that epic one time event, so Its fair that people who wasn’t there recive reward. Also people who get double chest. Its fair that they keep the chest… Its not their fault that they got another one… Its just a script error.

I really would like to know Gaile if i\I qualify for one or not… I’ll answer what i recall i did and honestly as possible.

I did all of the event past part 2 and then went to the new explorable map (as soon as it opened). After which my machine just couldn’t do anything but fail to render or even be stable on the new map and all I did was die over and over unable to discern anything let alone move or dodge as foes were still invisible. So I just gave up entirely and did something else well into the day and night even after the third and final parts were well over. Even the first event ever occured (when LA was first attacked) as it was too messed up and laggy on my machine to even get more than a bronze medal in part 1.

I just couldn’t do it anymore.

So I was online and never was in Lions Arch or Softsun for the rest of the Lost Shores.

I finally got mine!

So excited!

No precurser but a couple of legendaries I can turn a profit from!

ETA: Been playing D3 too much lately, I mean Exotics ofc

Dear all,

I was one of those who did my very best for a long time to take part of the main finishing event but the awful lag made it pretty much impossible to participate (I did all the pre-event stuff on two toons). The new/updated/modified Anet script for sending out chest rewards seems to have recognise my effort and I got a reward chest. Just some normal rares and exotics (in addition to the Ancient Karka Shell and the Ancient Karka Shekk Box).

Big Kudos to Anet for their effort to solve this thing.

I am worried that I was missed in this contribution, took part almost to the end of the event chain. Could not finish this because of the game crash and could not back to the game. Could you check if there is an issue about this? I do not want to be missed. Heard that you can get unique items with it. So please do what you can.

I’m very pleased with the responses we are getting, but this is nerve-wracking. I log online to see if I got anything, then disappointingly log back out to keep trying to find more information that I missed hoping I can find anymore answers. Hopefully tomorrow will be better luck!

No chest for me yet though. Maybe I am just being greedy because I did get a chest when I ran on one character. Then, when I tried running on another later that’s when I was getting lag issues and missed the chest. I still feel like those 2 hours of work deserved a second reward, especially since I know people who did not even log on that day got chests.

Thanks that it worked out anyhow, bunch of people who did have a DC or problems with extreme lags got their stuff too and are happy now.
But well most people I know have gotten another chest even thogh they finished the event with several of their characters… Something got terribly wrong here with the data, since the rich were made even more richer.
However, i can’t change this, all i can offer is that you drop me a line if you need a Data Mining Specialist, I can send you my resume ;-D

I meant how in the end they listened to their customers. I’d rather be put up with this kitten then having a company that just puts down an event and don’t care for possible negative consequences.

So looking at it. Some people who didn’t crash might of got lucky and got a chest sent to them whereas my friend who Arena net suspended for the weekend on false accusations didn’t get a chest. That sounds completely reasonable doesn’t it?

It affects me.
There are about 20g worth items and 2nd chance of getting a precursor (300g). Precursor aside, somebody got their 20g for free while I should still farming for it. Those people can buy ectos, for example, and get better gear, so they can run higher fractal levels or something.

If only GW2 wasn’t so grind and RNG based game I wouldn’t complain so much…

Hi Gaile. I play with my brothers account but I have a different PG…I logged in to the Karka event right after my brother was done and did about an hour of event before I crashed so wasn’t able to get anything. Since me and my bother share an account does that mean that I have got 0 chance of getting anything or will you send me a message with a chest too?

Yes, but before the event many customers asked for a reapeated event with one time loot (mainly for time zone reasons and lag reasons). Didn’t listen that time.

May I make a suggestion to the dev team for an additional filter. Scan the account for the presence of one of the 20 slot karka bags. You’ve already said that those that looted the chest twice ‘exploited’ the event, therefore by extension just one of these bags across the entire account means that account is not eligable for any additional loot. Of course this wont help people like myself but it should stop this mess becoming even more tragic.

I received a chest this morning when I logged in so I assume the fix is working and thank you to a net for doing that.

But from all the annoyance generated from the event itself and the fix implementation followed by a lack of communication I think its understandable for people to be getting worked up.

This thread has got responses whereas many others did not, could we not have been kept up to date on the process more frequently, and the one time event hasn’t gone down well due to people being unable to attend obviously whenever its on some people wont be able to attend but with a worldwide audience maybe consider running an event for 24 hrs so everyone at least has the opportunity to participate, maybe even mail the event rewards so you can participate multiple times but only receive one set of loot per account?

Must be hard for Gaile being bombarded with all this but your all the forum community has to speak to other than each other and we were hungry for info. Thank you Gaile for your patience and composed responses

I received a chest even though I participated in the event and looted the chest without issue. So thank you I guess. Although I’m curious why I got another one and others didn’t.

I don’t honestly care if I get 0 chests or 10 chests, I will be sorely disappointed if the following people don’t get at least one chest:

- Those who played most of the weekend event but are unlucky to live on another time zone so couldn’t make it to the final event
- Those who played most of the weekend event but are unlucky to actually have to work or other commitment so couldn’t make it to the final event
- Those who played most of the weekend but weere caught by the lag and bugs during Friday and Saturday (Arena’s fault) and gave up trying on Sunday

To me there’s only one way to fix this mess: give one chest to anyone who has logged in during the weekend. Heck, to anyone who has at least one karka kill on their monthly achievement.

Nothing here, pretty disappointed in how this has been handled so far.

Thank you so much Gaile and your team for having such patience with this. Was not expecting anything but a letter saying well done you attended and tbh I would of loved it if that’s what I got but to my surprise I got a Karka Box and some wonderus goods inside.

Anet and the employees always strive to do the best for the community and this shows no exception.

Strange, I just logged few minutes ago into game and received email from Customer Support with Ancient Karka Chest.

Why strange? Because I completed whole karka event chain and got chest and the end with rewards and now I got second Ancient Karka Chest (2 rares, 2 exotics – no precursors, accesory and 20slot bag).

Maybe I got this for my second character ? But I did not take part in the event on my alt.

Just got my chest! So happy it finally worked! And for those who didn’t get their rewards yet, here is another reply I got about 2h earlier:

“Hello,

Thank you for updating us regarding the recent delivery of the Lost Shores reward chest. We are currently investigating some reports that some reward chests were not properly distributed. Once we have completed our investigation, we will update your ticket with more information."

Seems like they are still trying to fix it so you might still have the chance to get your reward!

Just posting to say that those of us who aren’t overly self entitled pricks do appreciate Gaile and the team going above and beyond on this issue.

Sure, it might not be fair that some people got a few chests while others only get 1, but honestly, why do you care people? Someone got lucky and you didnt. Big deal, people get good drops while you dont often I’d guess.. Stop the jealousy =P

hmm i was there on event, dropped during it and have no achiev and no reward.. but i dont need it. Just for next time Anet should test things before it starts something like this. ppl are pissed off with all DCs during events or Fractals

So i did this event with 4 friends, and we compelted it before servers crashed.
i went to bed after event they stayed on, and done a 2nd event,
2 of them just got a karka chest mailed ot them, the other 2 (me) have not.. what is that about ? :S …. they get 3 rewards and i only 1? wtf ….
