After downloading and using the new 64bit client for Mac I noticed that the keyboard would stop working at random times and would require a logout and client re-launch.

I switched from full screen to windowed full screen or even just playing in a window and since then no keyboard issues. Worth a try if you having the problem.

Same problem here.

What I can add is that I mainly play on a thief character and F1(Steal) and F2(stolen skill) work for me, but the game does not respond to any other keys I press on the keyboard when the problem occurs. Everything else in-game works when I press it with the mouse.

My machine is a Mid-2012, 15-inch MacBook Pro
2.6 GHz Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVidia GeForce GT 650M 1GB

Yup this bug is super frustrating. When it occurs, all alphanumeric keys no longer work, but I can still use shift to dodge, and my arrow keys to move, in addition to the mouse.

I have yet to find any magical combination of steps that fix the issue without requiring me to completely close out the game and re-launch it, which causes me to lose progress on whatever I was doing, or try to complete stuff I’m in the middle of by clicking everything with my mouse…

I agree, it is annoying but I believe it is being investigated. You might like to check out this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Feedback-Guild-Wars-2-Mac-64-Bit-Client/page/12#post6725417

If you check Jon Olson’s request (page 10 of the thread for me) you could monitor it in Terminal and post your report in the thread.
