Definitely check temperatures to make sure your system isn’t overheating. It’s unlikely but certainly possible.
That said, if it is a problem with the game itself it’s unlikely that it’ll get fixed until the release of the new Mac client. The company that made the existing Mac client no longer exist so Anet are now developing a new one themselves.
Your best bet if at all possible is to play the game using Bootcamp.
I have the same problem, it is to do with the new mac sierra update and it seems guidwars 2 and its “envelope” is not compatible with the latest version of mac
dude, i solved it today, delete the whole gw2 folder from the application root folder, reboot and start gw2 again
open the hidden library while pressing the alt → application support →copy and paste guild wars 2 folder somewhere just in case and delete the main one → reboot → play without that kitten
dude (or dudess) @talek, that does not fix it unfortunately
@lead, after i did the fix the error came to me only once, which is shame still
If someone has any thoughts about what we need to do to fix it – it would be awesome
do you guys have safari opened on background while playing gw and having the crash?
This has happened to me a couple of times since Sierra upgrade and I think both times I had Safari open.
Safari is not the issue as I never ever use safari on my iMac. ^^
Same problem here, tens of kernel panics (one in the launcher too!!) since the Sierra update.
I have contacted the support and they have replied that
“The Guild Wars Mac client is not yet compatible with the Sierra operating system. At this time I am not aware of when an update to the client will occur, and you will again be able to player the game on Sierra.”
I have paid for this game, and I’m speechless right now.

I am also having this issue and i am very frustrated with Arenanet not having this figured out in advance.
Got say that its the same for me too, with a late 2014 27" Retina iMac
I had never seen a kernel crash on a Makittenil I tried running GW2 with macOS sierra
Exactly the same for me and Arena doesn’t give any answer. That’s not normal.
crashes still keep happening, i recognized that i got iTunes running in the back most of the time… maybe this has to do with it? anybody can confirm a similar behavior?
Happens for me too. Often I’ll get a crash after just starting my machine. MacBook Pro. 2016. No other apps running. No real chance to overheat. Really hanging out for the native client beta, please be soon.
try to play on integrated video
