I have been having the same issue as above.

There has been a consistent appearance of unbearable skill lag and rubberbanding when encountering enemies (player or AI). This issue has only affected me since the update at the end of the GW2 WvW Season 1.

All chat channels remain unaffected. The lag simply affects weapon swaps, movement, skill usage, salvaging, equipping and opening any panels. Today it took on average 30 seconds for my display to catch up to the actual actions being performed by my character, of which I have no clue as to what they were due to the lag in skill activation. This issue has affected me on empty PvE maps, all forms of SPvP, and especially in WvW.

The lag only seems to occur during evening UTC (begins just after 6pm and carries on til about 10.30pm). Other times my connection is stable and there is no perceivable lag.

I can actually try to activate a skill, sit and count to 100 and my character STILL wont react.

Chat still works just fine though. FPS remains at 47.

Been going on for a couple weeks now.

It seems to be isolated to me mostly, others I speak to don’t seem to have as severe a case as mine.

Essentially same described as above: Horrible network lag spiking once every 5-10 seconds and lasting from 5s to a minute at times.

All other games I play work just fine, I suspected my ISP or something along those lines may be throttling while the game is running (when I actually get a full d/c, i sometimes see a d/c in something else running)

…I’ve tried clearing every other non-essential source of network usage to isolate this, no luck. Any help/advice would be much appreciated… nearly unplayable right now.

So the last couple of days I’ve been getting crazy lag like: teleporting to an enemy then getting rubberbanded back to my original spot (use to happen a few times before, but now it’s happening 90% of the time), crazy rubberbanding in general, enemies teleporting from spot to spot, skill activation being delayed by more than 2 secs, finishing an enemy without it actually finishing them (use to happen on rare occasions as well but could easily be corrected by moving to a closer spot in the direction they were running where they would’ve been downed. This time it just fails everytime when it happens, not sure if hacks or the lag.)

Same thing here, Mesmers need fast reaction and speed to play it well in sPVP and PVE but not its just impossible to play mesmer. I have to stick with engineer in PVE because of this lag continuing.

Have extremly low fps since 2 days and lagging as hell (didnt made any change on my computer, and hadnt any problem till yesterday). any idea? maybe some connection to the other game corps were hacked in the last 2 days (riot, ae, blizzard, steam).

My suggestion is, run the diagnostic tool and post your trace route data. I did that in another post, it seems to be an escalating issue.

Same here! but ive had this problem for 2 months… before that all was fine. I have high grade i.e connection and a powerful pc. All other online games run fast as hell, not gw2!!
We can for shure post trace route data, but more and more ppl is getting this problem now.

I have this lag randomly after I load a zone and it doesn’t go away unless I try relogging. Often times I need to relog 3-4 times just to get the lag go away and play normally.

Skills can be delayed for like 5 seconds, rubberbanding and warping + getting teleported and downed in random places. Often it’s only like 1 second delay on skills, which is still unplayable if you want to do anything but auto-attack.

I would like to add my frustration to this post, this week I’ve been lagging like crazy. Every other game works fine, but when playing Guild Wars 2 I’ve been hanging around 380+ ping constantly. This makes the game unplayable for me, and I would appreciate an official statement.

I have also been having 1sec or less delay at all times ingame, with frequent lag spikes up to 3 seconds. Also teleporting around just out of nowhere, the game seems like it doesent know where i am, please fix this! Its unplayable!

I have been having this problem too, and I’ve never had it before (played regularly since pre-release), nor am I having it with any other games at the moment. No changes have been made to my pc or internet connection lately, and I can see that increasingly more people have been having the problem as well. What’s going on? I can’t play :c

Same here, been like this the last week. Never had constant lag like this before (300+ ms). My other online games work fine (30-50 ms). I also experience disconnects more often than before. The game is nearly unplayable.

Traceroute shows that the bottleneck is the Tinet.net gateways/servers, which are connected directly to the GW2 gameservers. I’m not sure, but my client was perhaps routed via another gateway before that didn’t cause this latency.

I really hope Anet will investigate this further.

Thursday evening and the months before that I didn’t have any problems, but friday evening the problems started. I have random lag, often resulting in disconnects. Unable to use skills, inventory management, loot, etc. I play every night, usually for multiple hours. I suspect something was changed during the maintenance that took place friday which is causing this.

A few times I couldn’t even get past the login screen, because GW2 didn’t seem to be able to find the loginservers. Also had some hangs of the zone loading screen, like the connection was broken/lagged while retrieving information about the zone from the servers.

Just now I even had the guilds in my Guild window go haywire and loose their logo’s and tags. The guild member next to me switch guild and didn’t have any tag anymore after he switch back to our shared guild.

Same problem here, major rubber band issues. Been really bad since yesterday. The funny thing is its mostly okay during the morning and early afternoon. Then it gets bad to a point where it is not playable.

Ran a diag on the GW2 client and it seems that there are connection issues with 80% packet loss to 6 of the first nodes. According to Telenor (my ISP) nothing is wrong shocking, but the funny thing is, I only have problems with GW2. No other game or internet related application has any of the same problems.

Yes, the lag is terrible again this morning. Tried playing world vs world; was killed by an invisible enemy while standing in a group of friendly players, could not respawn, could not go through door portals in towers, keeps etc. The lag is also present on other maps just not quite as bad.

As all the others above me I too have lag,teleporting everywhere+2-3 seconds delay upon skill activation. And internet works just fine as well as other online games,they’re all perfect except for GW2.

yeah cant even contact people in game, check whose online, the game automatically keeps stating my status is offline (invisible) despite the fact that I change it back in addition to rubberbanding for a week now. At the same time for some others, they had lag on monday but then everything went back to normal afterwards.

I believe this is related to latency, but it’s been happening more and more lately and it is quite literally only on GW2 that I have issues with “lag”. I can bring up anything else and play anything else, but if I go to send someone a message in game it acts like it doesn’t go through. I kid you not sometimes an entire hour will go by before I see something pop up on my screen saying I sent such and such this message. What would cause that sort of thing? This is a very occasional issue, my only guess is it’s happening at peak times when the servers are full of people.

Our house’s also affected with crazy lag, starting during this week. By default, we’re between 350-500 ms, but it spikes up towards 60 seconds and client disconnection. My wife spent the better part of 3 minutes loading

I’ve noticed another peculiar thing about getting DUPs when pinging guildwars2.com. It might be nothing, and might always have been there, but it might also be that there is something wrong with the routing between Norway and the GW2 servers (looking at the number of Norwegians having problems above). Trying from a VPS in England, I got the same ping DUPs, but not from a friend of mine’s server, which also uses another routing, according to traceroute.

I don’t have the diag data available at this moment, but I will update/add a new post when I have those from the machine I play GW2 on.

Seems like it. Canal Digital here too, which Im guessing uses the same net as Telenor. They are owned by them anyhow. So will this be up to us to fix or will Anet do something? Telenor accounts for quite a few of norwegian players, and the issue seems to be limited to only GW2.

Im also from norway, using telenor… But its only gw2 that is having those issues, other games like swtor have 0 delay at all…

So the problem is actually with Anet then? Considering all other online activities are unaffected by this lag.

This weird lag and 1-2 second delay on everything and people saying I’m warping around started three days ago. It’s getting really annoying. The weird thing is, the lag kicks in only in dungeons and maybe sometimes in pvp. Open world pve is lagless.

i have recently got pretty big skill lags and dces and other forms of lagg in the game. At first i thought my internet was the problem, but then I tried to play with a friend with his internet and he could play fine but i still had laggs. I have also tried to use a cable and I am sure it isn’t my computer specs that are the problem. Can you please do something about it soon, because as for now the game is unplayabale

Same problem as most of you. Having DCs, having 5-15 sec skill lag, rubberbanding constantly.
No other game has any lag, only GW2.
A fix would be preferable, as the game is unplayable at the moment.
