To get us all to post in one single thread, which makes it easier to moderate, easier to ignore, and subsequently doesn’t make the game look as uninviting to prospective players since the tech support forum is not littered with network lag threads.

Apparently, NCSoft and ArenaNet don’t even care anymore…
I reinstalled GW2 today, but it seems I’d better have never bought this game… Every 5-10 minutes or so DCs, and no reply in months… This is really bad. Good luck for those who decide to be persistent…

I’ll chime in as well. I’ve an active ticket with support, and have gotten similarly unhelpful responses thus far. I’m definitely having an issue early on with a hop through CenturyLink/Qwest, but the hops that correlate with extremely unplayable input latency are within the NCsoft IPs (64…) and the Verizon business account gateway linking that network to the wider world. I’ve requested a response from a supervisor and have given them reams of data. If I remember this thread, I will add updates as applicable.

I don’t know what is going on lately, I’m used to high lag being in eastern Australia but the last three days have been spent fighting my camera in-game more than enemies. I stick to mostly low-traffic areas, gathering nodes in open world PVE because anything else is too unpredictable. Not sure if this information will be useful to anyone but here’s my trace while idling in Snowden Drifts (home server is Dragonbrand):

First time resorting to the forums here for help, not sure how to clean that up to be more legible. Doubt there’s anything that can be done about it but one more voice in this thread couldn’t hurt.

If some are you are having latency issue and are quite confident that your internet’s working fine AND that your computer/laptop is operating fine, then it’s possibly a routing issue. I suggest using the trial version of a website that provides a proxy server:

http://pingzapper.com/

If most of the latency disappears while in the trial version, then it’s a routing issue. In that case, you’ll need to contact your ISP as much as possible to have the data servers fixed. Otherwise, you can always pay a small monthly fee to use a proxy server to improve your latency.

Best thing about using Pingzapper? Refer me and both you and I get a free month of using their proxy server through clicking on the link below!

I play on Ferguson’s Crossing from Texas and my data gets routed from the AT&T network to level3’s network. For some reason though, the packets get sent to Washington, Paris, and Frankfurt before finally reaching the servers. It’s a extremely inefficient data route if you ask me because of the high pings that result and potential for more packet loss with each and every data hop. Ferguson’s Crossing is an American server too, so why are my packets being routed out of the country?

Some google searches suggest that AT&T and level3 don’t get along very well, but one of my guildies has AT&T and doesn’t have this issue. Probably because he lives in a different location than me though… I’ll see what ArenaNet has to say after they have analyzed the PingPlotter data I sent them just recently.

From the second I logged on about two hours ago, I have been experiencing lag. In the last thirty minutes have been disconnected twice. After first disconnect, it took about 10 minutes to wait on a “login server” error. Then, I was disconnected again after about five minutes. There is no indication that my ISP or my computer is the issue.
