Guild Wars 2

I was doing events in Bloodstone Fen when I suddenly got disconnected.
Whenever I tried to get back in I manage to get to the character selection screen, but as soon as I select a character I get “Network error” after a short loading period.

That was over an hour ago. I just tried a few times again and it’s still the same problem.
I was also unable to reach this forum for almost an hour. Did the all the servers crash?

I thoroughly checked my internet connection and it’s fine. I also asked around in a Gw2 FB group I’m in and many people seem to be having the same issue. So it’s definitely a problem on the game’s end.

All 67% of my map comps gone/anytime I try to log in it disconnects me, got to love them hot fixes.

Just, updated and restarted my computer due to the above problems, i’m logging in getting to the click on my character to load up the screen then bam. There is nothing wrong with my isp or connection, hope you can sort this out soon anet.

I am still having this problem. Really was enjoying the new storyline, off for update and then nothing. That was over 2 hours ago, they must be scrambling to figure out what went wrong.

also have the issue and 0% map complete.

same thing for me as well, I clicked play and it gives me a network error message like Xampius , I tried restarting and it didn’t work.

I have not been able to log in for 2 hours now, it keeps giving me a message error and no its not my I internet I’m able to surf web and play other games np. I really hope this is going to get fixed soon and they know what’s going on. Guess its back to other games for the evening sick of trying to log in.

I have the same issue. I logged in to get the update, can get to the character select screen, pick a character, click play, after a few minutes in a load screen:
Network error: Please check your internet connection and try again.

there is nothing wrong with my internet connection.

My game was running fine until the 2nd patch which said “fixed server crash”. I cannot connect to the game now and if I do 1/10 times my game crashes in 3 minutes. Seems like you guys added a server crash instead of fixing one

I tried after 3 hours again and it failed so I don’t think it’s the busy servers or people that download and load the game all at the same time..

Edit: after logging in on a different character and then log in on the desired character in Bloodstone Fen, I had no further issues pre 3rd patch (july 26)

Same problem. But it shows me in divinity’s reach even though I was on another map (the one you go through asura gate from DR)

I had this exact same issue as well. Tried logging into another toon and it worked, then tried logging into the one I was playing in Bloodstone Fen and it went in ok after.

Mine is fixed. I had to reboot. It was like the server did not release my login.

Tried couple different characters, restarted modem & rebooted computer; game crashes at random times…time to play a game that works til this is fixed i suppose.

Same problem, can’t log in Network Error

I was having the same issue, but after rebooting my computer and re-loading the game everything was normal. I’m in, it’s smooth, and I’m being attacked by a giant beetle.

I just had this problem and I found a solution for myself.

I logged into a different character and it worked. Went back to the original character that gave me the errors and it stopped.

Can confirm this just worked for me too.
I’ll update for any stability issues.

I got the same problem. I tried to log into different character but no luck. I can even see the list of POI, WP and vistas.

Had the same problem, what helped me is flusing dns cache in windows. To do that, open console (cmd.exe) and type “ipconfig /flushdns”. Right after doing this I was able to log in after about 10 hours of not being able to.

I also can’t log in network error happen on all my characters for the last 9 hours :/

Solved! Logged in with different character and then back to the one with network error. All good. If you only have one character, try start a new and then back to the one with the errors.

ipconfig /flushdns and logging in to another character helped me.

Ive had this error since last night, logging in on charachters that were just parked in the open world didnt help, also the charachter which I was playing when I crashed appears to be in rata sum and not bloodstone fen (which was where I crashed during a ‘boss’ fight)

seeing how Im awefull with technology Im really hoping for a ‘get out of jail’ free card (soon?) ^^’

i had this same problem yesterday… so i went to bed… to day came to log in and got to character selection screen then after a brief loading screen… NETWORK ERROR… so i restarted my router/modem and now all ok… back in bloodstone fen

Same problem here, yesterday was fine until the game crashed during a gropu event.

I dropped out in the first story step and haven’t been able to reconnect. Well I did manage to get back into Hoelbrak for a few minutes, but no luck since.

Same here. Can choose the char but it drops me out with Network Error… -.-’
