I submitted a formal ticket, got several replies, and now nothing new for 9 days. Is this still in the works for a fix? While I can play under a different local login, it’s not a solution—and certainly no guarantee it won’t be broken again in the future. Please—Can we have an update on this issue?

New update and no improvement to the problem. I continue to fly out of the game if too many players are close to me! It’s been almost 2 months, where the game is unplayable.

Error message today:
- arena=Environment, cat=Prop Tex, allocBytes=1048624….
- dstBits…

I hope as well that a real solution would come soon! Creating a new login on my computer has somehow completely messed up my main login, so I would love to be able to reverse all of this as soon as possible. I even get an error message when trying to start the client on my main login, so I can’t test if the recent update fixed it for me. Could someone else try it?

I fixed my user login problem, but it wasn’t easy. The monitor resolution was set at 1024 × 768 (obviously not Macintosh native) and unless you could find the right boxes through the white play screen you can’t click on the options. I used some tracing paper and went back and forth between my two user accounts until I got the screen to come back; the trick was managing to click on the “window” box under graphic options without being able to see the box.

Good luck and I hope Tech Support will come up with a fix at the game level.

Hello, I would be interested if anyone cares about this issue. Any reaction such as e.g. “We’re working on it” would a let you know it’s your turn.
So it’s just a bad idea to let the customers are in the dark.

I have the same problem. I can login but when i press play the game starts up and the screen gets black. I don’t hear any music or sound. I contacted support but it seems they don’t understand what i mean. They think i have a problem with my login but that isn’t the case. why doesn’t anyone cares about this subject??? There is a a lot of mac players out there with the same problem.

I found a TON of Cider debugging information on EVE Online’s debug site: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mac_bug_reporting

I tried running the “cider” with the debug strings enabled, and oddly I got different error messages from my “gw2” user that the client works fine with, vs my “default” username that still gets the gray screen. Thought I’d share the commands and see if anyone else can reproduce similar errors for what works vs what doesn’t work.

Doesn’t Work:

default@MacBook-Pro:/Applications/Guild Wars 2.app/Contents/MacOS$ ./cider —debugmsg seh,tid,module,debugstr

Finally managed to get GW2 working back on my main account. It turns out there was another directory ~/Documents/Guild Wars 2 that I think was the ultimate culprit.

I deleted both of these directories:
“/Users/<username>/Documents/Guild Wars 2”
“/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Guild Wars 2”

I then ran:

/Applications/Guild\ Wars\ 2.app/Contents/MacOS/cider

Got the blank screen (full screen), then ctrl+tab, then click on a window, then clicked back into GW2 and then ctrl-enter to switch to windowed mode- and the client started working & working on subsequent launches of the game.
