No Sound
Sometimes I have issues with temporary periods of no sound upon loading into a new location. More populated areas like LA and DR are the worst, taking up to 3 mins to load and catch up. Then I get slammed with overlapping voices and sound effects from the last min or so. WvW sometimes has issues like this too during zergs and clashes.
Have you made absolutely sure your sound settings in game are on and turned up? Mute is not on through your system? Did you check your system preferences for sound? Speakers working? (you may find it annoying that I ask those, but always double check the absolute basics first)
If those options are all clear, everything working elsewhere and settings are good, you can try the “deleting your game settings folder” option. Here are a few more options to try (reposting from another thread):
To repair:
try repairing disk permissions via Disk Utility first. Then…
Open Terminal
Type the following:
/applications/guild\ wars\ 2.app/contents/MacOS/cider —use-dos-cwd C:Gw2 -- C:\\GW2\\GW2.exe -repair
You can copy and paste that in too. Run it and let it go until finished. FYI if you type the command yourself, they are 2 dashes (-) side by side… I’m noticing one looks like an em dash… It’s 2 en dashes though.
Perhaps after doing that, if it doesn’t work, you can try to delete the contents of the gw2 data folder, it’s a pain to get to the right one:
Mine is located under the hidden Library folder
/library/application support/guild wars 2
Delete the contents of that specific folder, then re-run the client.
Let us know how you make out either way. Good luck!

I tried both way´s – still no sound and it shows only the default playback device. I tried it also with no other sound device than system sound.
I tried it with crossover – I get sound and all of my sound devices (external usb sound card and others)
I tried it with parallels – I get sound but very poor graphic performance.
Have you tried pram/smc reset?
Use #5 of the troubleshooting steps from the link below:
(Lol if you start a line with “#5” it starts that line indented with 1.)
