Dear Arenanet,

in your “Guild Wars 2 Conduct Breaches & Outcomes” you stated that
“An account termination is also detailed when a player attempts to log into his/her closed account.”

Does this apply the very first time someone tries logging into a temporally suspended account? If so, I’d be bad for someone who didn’t check their e-Mails (because they forgot it or other reasons).

Also, I’d like to know how long the suspend period is if someone reported you because they felt insulted.

I’d be really happy if a Dev or another Arenanet employee could share some insight.

Banned accounts are terminated. If it’s temporary, the account is suspended, not banned. If an account is suspended for inappropriate language, the suspended account owner would have to contact the CS Team via a Support Ticket to discuss the issue. Personal account issues are almost never discussed on the forums.

Also, I fixed my post in regards to your ban/suspend input.

A notice is displayed when an account owner tries to log-in to a suspended account. The duration of the suspension is also noted. The duration would vary depending on the reason and severity of misconduct and any previous action(s) taken on the account.

What that means is:

If you are banned (not suspended), when you log in, you see a message about being banned. Not that you get banned if you log into an account that was suspended.

Closed = banned
Suspended = access removed for the duration listed.

Does that help clear things up?

(Basically, no, that doesn’t mean they ban you if you tried to log into a suspended account.)

I misinterpreted the closed part as suspended, drawing unneeded parallels to shops that temporally close down (since business at night is not profitable or because of holidays).
