Hi, this is a problem that I’ve had for the past year or two, but only recently I’ve decided to post about this as it has been getting worse.

I used to randomly crash every once in a while when doing a meta event, where there were numerous players on my screen at once. I would just suck it up, log back on and carry on as if it was no big deal.

However, for the past couple of months it has only been getting worse. Now I crash every once in a while even during a pvp match. Which is highly annoying, since I’m a very competitive player. I also tend to crash during meta events in Auric Basin, which again, is very frustrating, especially since multi looting is a time-gated event.

Now, it is worthy to note that I’ve just upgraded my CPU to an i7 2600k, which was my main suspicion. Sadly, the problem still persists.

My specs are as follows:

Intel core i7 2600k
Corsair DDR3 4GB
AMD Radeon HD 7800

I honestly cannot identify this problem, so I would be grateful for any input. Thanks!

Can you post the ‘Show Detail’ from the crash window? That would be helpful.

Good luck.

Just a funny observation, the game has been crashing a lot more often ever since I got Bolt, is this a coincidence or could it be something more? I noticed the sentence “Debug token ‘0×000266FA’: Lightning ran out of space for new bolts”. Could this be a problem caused by my RAM?

The problem is indeed caused by your ram.
You have too little of it.
In order to fix these crashes you would need to upgrade Windows to 64bit and build more ram in your pc.
Meanwhile you should reduce the graphics to absolute minimum and don’t run other programmes while you play.

The OOM error is Out Of Memory.

To eliminate much of your crashing, you would need to upgrade to a 64-bit OS, use the 64-bit client and increase your RAM.

Not much you can do, other than put all options on the lowest possibility, until you upgrade your system. You can’t use the 64-bit client or much more RAM until you upgrade your OS to 64-bit.

Good luck.

I see, what amount of RAM do you recommend? I was thinking of adding another 4GB so that I have 8GB total, but I fear that this may not even be enough. Would 16 GB be the best option?

A 32-bit OS can’t use more than 3 GB of RAM. If you wish to upgrade your RAM (and for GW2, and 8GB of RAM would be more than sufficient), you will have to upgrade your OS to 64-bit.
