When playing sometimes my graphics look strange, they flicker. I hope that is the right term. This happens in the open world and in fractals. And it seems to happen in the same locations. For example, I’m in Frostgorge Sound and in this one area the graphics spaz out. I’ve logged out multiple times and the issue persists. I’ve went to another area in FG and then came back to the same area I was having the graphic issue with, and the issue remains. The picture doesn’t do it justice. If you look real close above the ice sickles you’ll see grayish squares and rectangles. It’s much more than that. They flicker like crazy. Also going from light to dark. Sometimes there will be large rectangles and squares going crazy.

I only encounter this issue in GW2. When browsing the web or watching a Youtube video, I do not encounter this issue. I’ve spent about four hours researching this. I’ve done the “-repair” in the GW2 shorcut. I tried adjusting my graphic settings. I’m using a GTX 1080 card. I play on my flatscreen tv. Also, I got this computer a couple weeks ago. This is my third new computer. All three were different make and models. The first two had the same graphic issue (hence why I returned them). How can I fix this issue? This issue is really bothersome and any advice/tips are welcomed. Thank you.

I went back in the graphic settings and changed Shadows from High to Low and the flickering stopped. Anyone know why on High it flickers?

There’s not much you can do about it, it seems as though the game doesn’t play nice with how the Pascal series compresses things in it’s memory. You’ll find some areas, especially near torches and other lighting, it will constantly flicker even with shadows set completely off.

In sum, nvidia dont care, anet dont care… turn shadows to low, enjoy your new rigs

Hi Jon thanks for the feedback . Is there an ETA, as in next patch ? Do you think they will ever address the UI issues for those using a 4k display ?

Thank you for share with us some info about this, after my conversation with gw2 support and no respond at forum from devs i thought nobody will do anything with it. And near year had pass, hope it will fix soon.
