Since the patch yesterday my client became unresponsive so I thought that maybe uninstalling/reinstalling gw2 would work, but no now I can’t even re-install the game. Any news as yet of a fix of some kind or at least word of when a possible fix may be around. This is extremely frustrating. I have looked at all the other fixes but they seem to be more suited to people with the game still installed.
Hope this issue is being looked at and if so could you at least just respond here so we know its being looked at (because I’m aware I’m not the only one with this issue.
I’m having the exact same issue.
Created a ticket with Anet. Hopefully they either post a solution or they get back to me. I’ll post anything they send me.
Same prob here.
Downloaded client, it opens en directly goes to login screen.
If i try to login it keeps loading but nothing.
It’s on an all new computer sow there aren’t any files left from previous version.
On gw2 support they say there has to be an instal button before you can login but it’s skips that.
Try this fix from another post about launcher issues:
“This automatic proxy detection is enabled by default in Windows. This can be disabled under Control Panel > Internet Options > LAN settings by unchecking Automatically detect settings. Then click OK.”

No need i had same issue and i find wher is the problem ..
yestarday i payed fine whole day after i log off and try renter today i cant after patch so i unistaled gw 2 also new windowse xp and i find out wher is the problem . i dw the gw 2 i press on in and is show the user and pass login but not the instaling bar .. so i check here C:\Documents and Settings\Brainless\Local Settings\Temp here is my instalation gw2 extract went(u must press on this icon) but i don’t have enaf space to instal in c and sience i don’t get that question wher u wanna to instal i don’t know what to do for now maybe u guys can also help me how to chose D to instal i ahve space on this partion ..

u should go to C:\Documents and Settings\YourUsername\Local Settings\Temp and click the gw2 icon tehr for soem reason is save tehr without asking u wher to instal the game anad from that icon u cna instal it
Later Edit : i copied whole temp file to my D and now is instaling in my d partiton
none of the fixes work for me. I uninstalled the game because of the launcher issues and now can’t re-install.
I’ve changed the Internet setting but the only difference it makes is the “Install Guild Wars 2” text appears in the red box but it is still completely unresponsive. I have to kill the process off to get rid of it.
