Q:

Hi guys … I’m sorry to bring it up again but i’m wondering about using Auto clicker in trying to join maps in megaservers such as Crown Pavilion , Teq … etc

I Have read in forums here that using scripts to make 1 button make more 1 action is illegal and cause account ban

But auto mouse clicker do one action per one click …. similar to what done by humans …. but it safes much effort

so that king of auto clicking is illegal also or not ???

Thanks in advance

It is not allowed, since it doesn’t require human input to do those clicks.

A script that would make space = mouse-click would probably be okay, but a script pressing space = 100000000 mouse-clicks would not be okay.

Not an opinion, just the facts. From the ArenaNet official Guild Wars 2 Rules of Conduct, item number 20.

“You may not use any third-party program (such as a “bot”) in order to automate gameplay functions, including playing, chatting, interacting, or gathering gold or items within Guild Wars 2. You may not assist, relay, or store gold or items for other players who are using these processes.”

Using auto clickers (notice the emphasis on auto) automates game play and therefore fall under this item.

How would using an auto-clicker help when joining a map? I must be missing the part where you need to click multiple times in one place….I thought there was mouse movement in-between the areas where one would click.

The OP’s “Autoclicker” is just another fancy word for “macro”. Do note that when you post on the forums about using prohibited stuff, Anet’s security team is probably gonna look at your account to see if you’re doing what you’re asking about.

I fully understand what you are trying to accomplish here, a simple macro that will attempt to swap to a party member’s megaserver map that is full. Our stance is very clear on using any third-party program to automate game tasks (which has been gracefully copy/pasted above).

What you should know is that even if you decided you want to do this and spam join a megaserver map, it will not help you. Recently we implemented a system that will throttle and prevent a player from sending too many “join map” requests in short sucession. While this is not a solution to help players join full maps, it does somewhat even the playing field for multiple players attempting to join a full map.

I think some people still feel that it helps because they wouldn’t have to actively click every three seconds to attempt joining a map for possibly an hour or longer.

I do agree that the throttle helped even the playing field (even though, at first, many were unaware of this and were still spamming nonstop for long periods of time not realizing they were actually preventing themselves from getting in and getting carpal tunnel syndrome at the same time). However, I really hope that a queue system is being seriously considered, because I think that would really even the playing field and save many of us a lot of unwanted, painful monotony and frustration.

This explains why I’m only getting the map is full once every third / fourth attempt. No, I’m not using a macro and doing this manually and this new system is a pain in the nuts. Not only does it not prevent ‘auto clickers’ from still using their auto clickers, but it makes it a living hell for regular players to taxi in now compared to before.
So in the end it changes nothing but make it more frustrating to regular players to taxi to a map.

I really hope you guys have some mechanics in mind for the July 1st patch regarding this. Queue system, anything really. Cause the mega server feature is one of the best features this game has ever had. But the implementation and the way it works has been nothing but disappointing due to stuff like this.

I rarely make such direct statements to developers as they definitely know best what’s right for their product, but I believe that vision of “even ground” in GW2 is skewed.

In my opinion, a player who has stronger motivation and has invested in the game more deserves more. Players who went as far as creating a guild, a website and a Teamspeak server for playing together in a large event deserve more than a random upscaled solo player who tagged a boss, pulled all mobs and then Akitten in the middle of the fight (yes, I’ve seen a person who was idle for 2 hours in the same place in Boss Blitz, died over and over again and still wasn’t kicked by the game!).

In GW2’s opinion, players who want “too much” should be punished by:

  • daily chest limits for trying to earn gold,
  • chat suppressions and language filters for trying to organise,
  • megaserver system which solved population problem for solo low-levels but introduced a huge pain in the axe for large groups of frequent loyal players aka guilds,
  • stealth “fixes” to “join in the map” mechanism.

Spending an hour and a half looking for a server, splitting the guild into three poor semi-full servers instead of a single one, or jumping right on time with the whole guild and then being unable to join for half an hour while other players who were late could join – these things are not “even ground” with other players for me but sources of frustration and, when repeated multiple times, reasons to ragequit.

TL;DR: until we get a queue system, if a player gets in time and spams “join”, he’s more motivated then the one who came later and clicked it once and thus should have priority in joining.

20 level 80s and counting.

Locking this thread as this is not to have a debate about a queue system and the original question has been answered.
