I’m currently at a loss. Even after updating all of my drivers, Guild Wars 2 completely shuts off my computer at random. No error messages pop up. No disc recovery/improper shutdown warnings on reboot. I am at a complete loss as what to do now.

Sounds like a power delivery issue. Does it happen with other games? Particularly ones that stress your CPU/GPU? If you haven’t tried, you can use a stress test… e.g. run Prime 95 and Furmark simultaneously.
Most likely culprit is your PSU… either because it’s old, or you recently upgraded your components and it cannot handle the new load.

It only happens with Guild Wars 2, oddly enough. I’ve not heard of Prime 95 or Furmark before.

Prime95 is a CPU stress test, Furmark is a GPU stress test.
They’re handy to tell if your overclocks/power delivery/temperatures are stable
Need more info as well: CPU model, GPU, Power Supply.

It could also be an overheating issue. Have you checked your hardware components’ temperature? GW2 is very GPU heavy (at least to my knowledge and experience), my GPU fans are always running on maximum when I am playing.

Fair point, I forgot about that; but overheating does have warning signs (e.g. artifacts, throttling). Your cooling system has to be pretty dire to cause total shutdown without other signs. Testing it is the same as testing for power issues though… just run HWmonitor in addition to the stress tests to watch your CPU and GPU temps.

Which other games have you tried? It has to be a fairly stressful modern game… something like Witcher 3 or BF1.

For me it was the GPU but then I was getting a ton of artifacts which the OP didn’t mention.

GW2 is heavy on both the CPU -and- the GPU. No other game I play heats them both up as much as GW2. During a period of time when I used to play on my lappy, which granted is crap, the temps used to peak at 94-95c, whereas in other games it hovered in the 80s. So yeah, check CPU temps. Even though it should just throttle the CPU when it heats up too much, it can also shut it down if temps run wild. Otherwise post your PSU brand/model. It could be either too weak, or if it’s old, maybe its capacity has diminshed to the point that it can’t deliver enough power and shuts down.
I haven’t had time to fully investigate this, but I have been experiencing drops to black screen when playing GW2 (e.g. I can still hear my Discord peeps, numlock still toggles) but have no way to get back to an operable system. I looked at my event logs briefly and spotted an issue with a NVidia related item failing. Hoping to have some time tonight to really dig into this, it only crashes with GW2. Ran updates last night for all drivers and still had issues after a 10-15 minutes of play.

It takes a really good laptop to play GW2 on. Even a mediocre desktop has an easier time with GW2 than most laptops.

How much Virtual Memory do you have allocated to the machine? I was having an issue just like this one for another game, because I barely had any allocated. Just seeing if this might help.

Having the same issue. Here’s what I’ve got:
1920 allocated virtual memory. Windows 10 64 bit. AMDfx-4300 quad-core processor 3.80ghz. 8.00 gb ram. Nvidia geforce gtx 750. This machine is about 2.5 years old.
It happens randomly, but has happned 2x this week which is why I’m concerned.
